Not bad at all, I got Supercube III for $420 and that was a hell of a markdown from a friend who worked at an audio shop. The Supercube III is pretty amazing for it's size, it's punchy and rattles a 2 story 3br house. This is the biggest in the line and yeah.... I bet it's nice.

This sub with these speakers [newegg.com] would make a VERY nice setup for around $600!!

FYI, that 13Hz number is bogus for this sub. More like 26-28Hz of usable response.

Do you own this? I have 2 and with correct room placement it most certainly can do this.

13 Hz spec is for the power amp. I do not own this.

Why would you get this awesome sub and those mediocre speakers? If you have to go cheap, at least get the Take-5's -- and better yet -- spend as much on the rest of your speakers as you do on the sub!

Good deal, but I would look at some independent sub makers if you are in the market for a $500 sub. Check out Outlaw, HSU, Epik, SVS, Elemental Designs, etc. Still a great deal, but Def Tech has been known to stretch their specs for years now.

I agree. I dug into this last time it was offered, and concluded that the benefit to the Supercube is its smaller size and aesthetic finish. If you can live with a slightly larger box, and don't plan on seeing it, the other options may provide better performance for the price.
