New Car Idea's? BWM or another Acura?

That statement might have rang true about 5 years ago. Quality of American cars has been steadily rising the past few years as well as the technology that is put in them. Still not up to the level of a BMW or Mercedes, but then again, those are more expensive vehicles too. A Ford Fusion/Chevy Malibu/Toyota Camry/Nissan Maxima will never compete with a BMW 3 series/5 series but they are becoming more realistic, cheaper alternatives.

All that said, given the same $30,000 I'd buy a used BMW 328xi over a brand new Fusion any day. Change that to $20,000 though and we will have a different story.

My husband feels 100% the same. I have driven the Boxster a few times by myself and I have to say it's a solid, fast yet it never feels "out of control"...just very tight and smooth on curves. I told him if we raced I would win because my engine is a 6.2 and I think the horsepower is higher in mine.....he laughed his ass off. He said maybe if mine weighed about 2 tons less MAYBE I would win

The expense is well worth it without a doubt. And when you bust your ass in school and work for years, these are just some of the well deserved things you can enjoy.

Having owned a BMW 328 and not owned a TL, I can't say that definitively. However, I can't imagine a better driving car than the 3 series. I had heard people talk and reviews about how you feel "connected to the road"....didn't know fully what that meant till I drove that car. Amazing. You feel every nuiance but not an annoying bumpy ride...if that makes any sense. Hard to explain.

Partially. I agree that BMWs are top notch, but I disagree that the quality is tons better than American cars. Holds true up until a few years ago, but the gap is much closer now.

if you put all the options that come standard in an Acura (sunroof, leather, power/heated seats, climate zones, etc.) into a comparable Honda, you don't end up too far off (except the RL), and saying an Acura suspension is tuned anything like a standard Honda is just wrong.

you're paying a bit of a premium for a name, but i think the Acura line overall is probably one the better values in the luxury car market.

I really hope they get their bugs worked out. Is there still a long waiting list? I'd like to see this company become very successful and help change the trend to this type of vehicle (but more affordable). I'd love to test drive one, but I doubt I'd even be allowed in the showroom unless I had an Armani suit on.

How are the new 2012 F30 328I vs the 2011 328i??

Also for those who have leased a BMW, what addon's should i get. Also are there any deal specific spiffs i should have them throw on to make it a deal such as lifetime service, tires, winter matts, etc?

I know I'm showing some bias, but have you looked at Mercedes as well?

If you are getting a BMW lifetime service might be a good idea depending on the cost since oil changes and brakes and "normal" stuff is pretty expensive.

If you are getting a lease, definitely have them throw in some lube because you are probably going to get bent over in the end
