Same processor, same RAM, slightly smaller HD (but will use external so still plenty), worse webcam. Don't know enough about the video cards to compare them, or any of the other factors. Price on that 15R is $487. Computer would be for the wife, she loves playing simulation games (Sims, Caesar, Civilization), which would be better? Any comparisons of battery life? Or just which would be a better deal? TIA.

You'll need to downgrade to “1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty” in the Security and Services options.....

In for the 15! I paid the extra for the 1080P tho...i'm a resolution nerd. I also opted for the better wireless card, the one included did not seem to have bluetooth. Also got the backlit keyboard for cool factor.

How's battery life? Around 4-5hrs with a movie I hope?

all the new XPS models comes with HDMI and most of them has USB 3.0 too, this can run most of the games with moderate to low level graphics in x768 res.
