Sears has done it again! I did this the last time this deal became available, and it DOES work!

So, what have they done? Why do they need to hire eCommerce IT people with a clue? Check this deal out!

(You can do this with the T3i now as well to get the price down to $549.95 for the kit. Just choose the T3i instead of the T3 and still save the $250!)

Make sure that you choose delivery on the lenses and store pickup on the T3 kit!

Why? We are separating the receipts to keep them clean for an easy return. Why? Canon has an instant rebate when you purchase specific zoom lenses with DSLR cameras. What has Sears done? They have applied the two discounts to the T3/T3i Kit. So they are discounting the T3/T3i kit by $250 and haven't tied the discount to the lenses required to get the discount! So what does this mean to YOU? It means that your receipt for the lenses is a clean invoice with zero discounts, and once you have picked up your T3 kit, you can return the lenses to your local Sears store for a full refund, and get the T3 kit for only $299!!!!!!!! Yes, this works. Yes, I've done it. Yes, I expect that Sears will finally catch on after a lot of folks take advantage of their stupidity. So hurry and get in on this deal while you can!

This is a redux of an earlier deal when the T3 kit was on sale at a deeper discount. This deal does get the T3 and T3i kits down to the lowest deal prices that we've seen as of late, and is especially nice for those of us who don't live anywhere near a Fry's, and couldn't take advantage of those B&M only deals! That said, this seems to be Sears' standard method of doing Canon's instant rebate's, so if the camera were to go on sale while the instant rebates were still live on the Canon lenses, then the deal price will drop accordingly. It also means that the next time that Canon runs an instant rebate on these lenses that you'll be able to do this deal again, so if you miss out don't shed too many tears, because Canon seems to be running these instant rebates really often as of late!

This deal expires April 30, 2012, unless Canon extends the instant rebate on these two lenses.

It actually would I think. Remember, all we're doing here is separating the lenses from the camera so they each get their own invoice. Your method should accomplish the same thing.

why not find out for "the lazy" if buying all from the same location and just returning the lens will keep the discount on the camera for your fellow SDers.

Don't see any big discount.
