ok, well I went ahead and preordered from amazon anyway. If it turns out to be a dud like the last one, I'll just eat it and hang on to the disk incase thats the only way you can play the BF4 beta (if I don't lose the disk by then)

Man with the news about the PC gamers getting the shaft on COD:BO2 my group is looking for a new game. I guess this one is the most promising but I wish there was a PC Beta. Guess I can download it for my 360 and try it. Just hate to drop $60 on it and it be like the last one which they practically give away.

This game comes out in 2 weeks, right? Do we have any info on multiplayer maps, player count, gametypes, server info, etc?

Player count max is 20 with some modes being less and there are 5 gametypes. Not sure about the # of maps or server info but the limited edition comes with a code to get a map pack that comes out in December for free, which only contains 2 maps that are in some way based on the mission that killed Bin Laden as well as tying into some movie about it.

Hearing some negative impressions from people who have been playing. That isn't going to dissuade me though, I'm still going to buy it. But I guess people are kind of disappointed with it.
Spawns are supposed to be bad, gunplay feels awful, and graphics are supposed to be not just bad, but atrocious. I won't be able to try it though, so I don't know how much of that is exaggerated, but some people are slamming it pretty hard.

I played it for awhile yesterday and am starting to enjoy it. I agree the graphics aren't that great and there are still a lot of things that need to be ironed out (scrolling in the menu choices isn't always working). Also it seems like the enemy is always able to find me and kill me before I can even see them, but I guess that is more just me not knowing the map and stuff. I did actually start to figure out how to use the killstreak things after I missed a couple of them, now I just got to figure out if there is a way to change them so I can get that blasted chopper that was destroying me time after time.

I really like how you can customize your gun so much though and look forward to doing a lot of that.

Supposedly the game is going to have the optional HD texture pack on 360 just like BF3 did as well as shipping on 2 discs. Im guessing the beta version lacks the HD texture pack.

Ive played a handful of rounds. Its basically Battlefield 3 without the emphasis on vehicles and the map is more like something out of Call of Duty. Like others have said the main issue is the spawns and there also seems to be a lag issue cause similar to Call of Duty I will shoot someone 5-6 times then they will turn around and shoot me 1-2 and ill die. Its not complete crap like some people are making it out to be but I dont see it becoming a mainstay either.
