Samsung Exhibit and $50 tmobile card for $225 Prepaid

Would like to see DZAP weigh in on this deal - plus anyone that has one and used it as a WiFi hotspot (using the $30 pre-paid data plan) in a 3-G-only area.

Great deal... I paid $199 at Walmart for this... All prepaid phones have tethering disabled on the $30 plan, but this phone can be easily rooted via 1 click root. Once you root your phone, you can freeze the T-mobile tethering manager with Titanium Backup, and you are free to make hotspots. I would also uninstall/freeze that Carrier IQ garbage which is hidden under "device management" unless you like big brother spying on you through your phone.... I use Skype for outgoing/incoming calls, but it usually force closed on me until I overclocked my phone to 1024000. I am in a 3-g only area and I get 6mb/s download speeds... that beats my 100k/s Sprint speeds on my Evo..

This is a great deal. I bought this phone from Amazon about 3 months ago for $180 (no refill card). I'm currently on the $30 plan and I love it. I rooted my phone, got rid of a bunch of crapware and installed GrooveIP for VOIP calls. You can activate this phone on the $30 plan - do it through tmobile's website.

Officially? U will have to wait until T-mobile release it ,which is very not likely.
Unofficially U can root it and flash custom rom when it is available , it will run sluggish at best.

Just a regular deal -- you can buy from amazon for less than $200 without tax for most of states.

at tmobile, you need to pay tax.

Umm, good luck getting a $50 refill card somewhere else.

Is it a great deal?? Amazon has it for $198, without tax,plus with Citi Bank card, 5% cash back. T-mobile website requires tax paid right? The total will be $245 then. As to $50 refill card, go Callingmart for less.

Anyway, urlhasbeenblocked has $37.5 cash back for active 4G plan with T-mobile. Does this apply for switch from Pay As You Go to 4G? Anyone knows?

Would check if Nokia 710 + $50 refill for $200 at local stores is still going on if you need a phone.

There is a custom rom for ICS but the camera will not work.... T-mobile confirmed that it will not be getting update.
