wow this game is terrible. its one cutscene after another with little bit of action spread in between. and those colors, my God...you have to be high on drugs to enjoy it. knew rockstar would screw it up as soon as they entered the picture.
I am still giving it the benefit of doubt since I never played Max Payne on a console, and this was the 360 version I tried. Waiting for the pc version to make a final decision Last edited by tornadog; 05-14-2012 at 09:39 PM.. |

Can you turn off all the weird, unnecessary, color and distortion effects? If you can't I won't be getting the game.
Enjoy when you can, endure when you must.

You cant...its supposed to reflect his drunken state of mind, and it terribly sucks. Controls on the 360 were also bad, pretty much the way to tackle any scene is to go into slo mo, shoot folks then get into cover, wait for refill and repeat. And dont even try to do the bullettime, you can pull it off with one or 2 enemies around. But if you get into a shootout, its instant death. |

I just finished Part 1 and the game does feel like a rinse and repeat of cover and shoot.

It wouldn't surprise me if half the length (est: 7 hours) of the campaign was cutscenes only. Cool effects and mature story, but no supernatural stuff like in the Max Payne movie - was there any supernatural stuff in the previous two games or what?

From an action movie viewer, I thought the MP movie was a recommendable flick. Although I can understand why fans would hate it since it added supernatural stuff.

Just finished this yesterday, that was one of the best SP campaigns I've played in a good while. Tight gunplay, unbelievable graphics, great acting.
