Darksiders (Xbox 360 & PS3) $10 + FS [Best Buy]

I ordered this deal and received the game yesterday. For some reason the game keeps freezing, to the point where I have to power off the xbox. It's already happened 7 times and I can't get past the first 5-7 minutes of gameplay. Twice it even froze while trying to load the autosave before actually getting into the game. I have it installed to the hard drive, tried making a new game instead of continuing, etc. Should I try to get an exchange from BB or something? Have any of you guys who ordered this game experienced this issue?

Yeah I have an old fat white original model Xbox. Was repaired for RROD under warranty by Microsoft back in 2008 and I replaced the hard drive at some point too. I thought it might possibly be my xbox going bad (even though other games aren't freezing), but wanted to check with other people to be sure. A lot of results came up for Darksiders and freezing from back in 2010 when it was released so I thought it could feasibly be the game itself.

Did you connect to Xbox Live to get the update? The initial version for Xbox had some serious issues...

Yeah I tried it with the update, without the update (via clearing the cache), saving to a memory unit, saving to the hard drive, playing off the game installed on the hd, playing directly from the disc, starting new games, continuing old games, etc. Sometimes it freezes in the menu before loading the game even, like when I choose "Options".
