Newegg seems to be the only store with the LG IPS231B-BN. LG had a LG IPS231P-BN that's been discontinued for the LG IPS236V (nicer design if you don't mind glossy black). I happen to need built-in speakers with a wall-mountable IPS monitor, no matter how crappy the sound. So this fits the bill.

why do ips have slow response times? this is 5ms... or is that normal? ips is bad for gaming right?

so you would notice a difference in a 120hz monitor vs 60hz rather then a 2ms vs 5ms monitor. (assuming the refresh rate are the same) im running a 120hz and it was night and day different. but 25ms to 2ms i saw nothing..(yes a really old monitor...like the first gen LCDs back in the 2004s) look up more info on IPS monitors. im thinking about getting once myself (a 1440p one with overclocked refresh rates usually caps at 90hz. bit its very noticeable at 75-80hz+) a lot of people would never go back to regular TN TFT or w/e their called panels. |
