A bunch of 5th graders staying overnight at a hotel for a birthday party?

I wouldn't allow my kid(s) to go if they're only in 5th grade unless there will be constant adult supervision. And, the adults in charge are ppl I know and trust. Note, there has to be a good number of adults to the amount of kids attending the party.

My wife had a long conversation with the birthday girl's mom...it's going to be 4 girls; two adults (birthday girl's mom and another of the kid's mom) are going to be staying in an adjoining room. The girl's mom sounds like my wife - the overly strict/cautious/overbearing, won't let the kid do/wear anything fun kind of mom that, as a dad, I love.

End result is we're going to let our daughter attend. We were invited to hang out at the hotel, but we'll probably take the opportunity for a date night. Might stop by before or after going out to check on the girls.

One of the posters brought up a good idea: let her go for the day and pick her up at 9 or 10 pm.

Either that or don't go at all.

Kids don't party like you used to back in the day... Bad things tend to happen when you have a bunch of immature kids together by themselves.

This would be a dream come true for pedophiles...

Ah okay. 4 girls aren't bad at all. I was picturing 10+ and co-ed.

We did this last year with my 10 year old, I only allowed her to choose a certain amount of guests she wanted girls & boys ..the parents were required to stay while they swam. Afterwards we all, parents included went up to the room for pizza and cake. The hotel told us we could only have 5 people in the room to stay overnight so I let her choose 3 girls and I stayed with them. They weren't loud & obnoxious ..only thing they cared about was staying up late giggling & carrying on. The hotel told us first offense we would be told to leave, no refund. They had a fun time, but I don't think I will ever do it again.

I posted before I read the outcome, sounds about like the party we did as well. She should have a fun time.
