my friend and I went to 3 Targets today in So Cal, all had the stickered price of $890.98, some printed out the price larger on a piece of paper, and we went to the price checker and entered the DCPI for the Panasonic 55" 008-09-1256 to see what it would come up as in their price system.
I think the small red & white sticker on the bottom right of the bezel had a number 15 on the upper right corner of the sticker (meaning the discount was 15% off). I peeled back the current sticker and saw the previous number on the upper right corner of the price sticker said 5. So if the previous posts on 3X price reductions to salvage are correct, whenever the next price adjustment occurs, it should be going to salvage after that. I bought mine on 4/19 for $700 (from $1,000) and they had large printed signs 30% off all clearance tv's. This store was inside a mall where I guess not a lot of people buy tv's so I guess they wanted to move their inventory since the other stores are still at 5% (last reduction), and 15% (current reduction). All of the stores are within 20 miles apart from each other. He said if the next reduction matches or beats my $700 he's going to buy it, so let's see what next week brings. Mine came with everything except box (stand, remote, manuals, warranty card, etc) & the manager said it was already 30% off so they wouldn't budge on any further discounts. All the remaining ones my friend and I looked at, the employee's said they don't have the stand or remotes, we tried to get them to knock off a larger percentage. One store said 10% off and no more (even called over the manager)... another store basically had the "I don't care, if you don't buy it, someone else will" attitude and said $890.98 take it or leave it. However at $890.98 they'd have to knock off over 20% to even come close to my $700 price and he still wouldn't have a stand or remote like I do.. so we're waiting for another price reduction, then see how much more of a discount we can negotiate. Also for the guy looking at the tv with a scratch on a panel. A scratch on the bezel or back is fine with me, but I wouldn't consider a tv with a scratch on the display panel or glass. They would have to give a major discount, like 50% off or more... for me at least. Cascada ![]() |

Is the best method for a return rebuy still by saying you want to change the form of payment? So should I pay with cash and then go back and pay with a card of some form? or just buy a GC and go and ask for it to be applied toward the total? edit: also what is the 46 panny plasma supposed to have??? A stand, remote, wireless dongle, and anything else? Last edited by blakezilla; 05-02-2012 at 08:54 AM.. |

edit did you get New in box or display...if display how much extra % off did you get New in box or display...if display how much extra % off Thanks. Im trying to get the nerve to buy the display. The store closest to me only offered 10% off though. Supposedly its been up on the wall since last July (not sure if that is accurate or not). I have a display 37" vizio from a couple years backthat is starting to spaz out. It was 50% off with an extra 30% for being a display. Any recommendations on how to get it down another 10-20% off. One lady was like its already 50% off. I refrained from saying "yea but that is for a new in box item"...maybe I should have. The second store ~20 minutes away only had the display and didnt even mention any other percent off. At both stores the employees were trying to tell me how the display must be horrible after being on all day. Sometimes it sucks being an SDoholic cause it makes you want the super duper craziest price for things. |

Display at 30% off and a shade under 2500 hrs. I went right before they closed and the gal couldn't locate stand an accessories so was able to ask manager for the 30% off. They wanted to give me a mount at first but I mentioned I could not miunt where I live. Next day called and a rep went back and foun everything except for screws and pole assembly. $26 later through Panasonic my journey was complete.

Ahh man the pains of trying to have the cake, and the house and the car. I feel like 10% off isnt enough for one of the display since I got 30% off before. Ill head backlater tonight and if Im really lucky then the TV will be gone and ILL have saved $500ish. Ill take 20% off though. I guess Ill mention the target card thing to try to spur some extra % or say Ill buy the warranty for another 10% off. They did say that they had everything...but that could just mean stand and remote so who knows, Does anybody know when the 46"ST30 Panasonic was first rolled out at target? Ive seen stuff saying this is possibly from 2010..(CNET though, appeared on amazon in Feb 2011) |
