Usual followers on SD would probably be already aware of all clearance threads on Target TVs coming up every now and then.

I just thought will create this master thread so people can follow easily and pull this thread up when at a Target store!

Don't bother Repping Me, its not created for that purpose BUT just to keep a master thread where we can have a one stop thread for finding all clearance deals on TVs from our beloved Target Big Grin.

I have pulled a few from this week and please feel free to add to the the thread and I'll update the OP. Thanks for your help in organizing Target TV deals - lets get them all Wink

NOTE: Inventory Checker is not 100% accurate. My Target store still had the display Panasonic 46" 1080p 3D on sale and the inventory checker says out of stock. So if you are in the market for a display model - check all the stores near you.
In addition, the same Target shows that it has the Sony 40" but it no longer does.

Just a Suggestion to TV hunters at Target clearance:

Typically Target clearances are the BEST when it comes to clearance, especially electronics.

Obviously one would think its best at 50% BUT from experience (and am sure others with target clearance exp.) will chime in too ... they will go from 50% to straight 70%off so just with a little bit of patience you might as well profit yourself of the another 20% reduction between a week or two.

While this is also true that someone else may buy it at 50% in which case you want to take a chance or weigh your risk vs. need options.

personally speaking if its not something I really really want, and just a collection to a guest room I'll wait to see the 70 off tag!

hope it helps and you can get the best deal out on your next tv from target

Found out why the clearance tv's were not being sold at the store I was watching. None of the clearance display tv's had a stand or any accessories and they wouldn't budge on giving any additional discounts besides the marked clearance price (bad deal).

Went to another target that I had not been to yet and they had the 46" panasonic st30 that I was looking for. It turns out that they also had everything with it (stand, accessories, wifi adapter). Picked it up with a 10% discount for being a display model (4400 hours logged on the tv). They would have knocked 20% off without any accessories but luckily found it mislabeled as accessories for an lcd tv.

Just now sent the fax for the Panny 46" to get the adapter and missing cover for the stand pedestal.. But still missing the 3D glasses which are really expensive..
The 3D glasses are not included with the TC-P46ST30, note S series. The 2011 V series includes the 3D glasses. I'm on the same boat, looking for them. Just make sure you buy the 2011 3D glasses, the 2012 3D glasses won't work.

Are you sure the mounting holes on the panels case a broken? They sometimes have a metal bracket attached to the panel that are for their in store mounting system. The panel I bought last year still has them attached.
Sadly, they busted them both. You can hear them rattling around inside the unit. In fact, one of the metal mounting brackets is still attached to the TV and they couldn't remove it because the screw just kept spinning inside the TV. So, the TV has one of the brackets hanging from it. The screw will have to be cut off to get rid of this dangling metal bracket. It's a real pain.

You're probably thinking why in the world would anyone buy a TV that couldn't be used. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I guess I got caught up in the hype of buying my first flat screen TV for a screaming deal $168 for what is normally $600. Plus, the Target rep assured me that all I'd have to do is call Philips and they'd just mail me out a stand for it for nothing. Yeah, I know, you've got a bridge to sell me, right! LMAO

Anyway, it's been sitting against my couch for the past two months while I wait to see if I can snag a stand on eBay for less than $50. No luck so far. On Tuesday, 3 months will be up, so I will likely bring it back. Unless anyone knows of a way I could make a stand... lol I cn't seem to figure out how one even attaches to this unit. There's no obvious point of attachment, screw holes underneath or insert point anywhere ... nothing. Very Bizzare!

4,400 hours of use...wow! So that's like buying a TV 2 years old with average use. EEK!

I feel ya laugh out loud do you have just the 2 metal legs that come in the bag with the manual> Last year was my first flat screen no stand so I attached the legs that screw to the stand and go into holes in the bottom of the panel.
I retrofitted the swivel base of my old entertainment center.. A couple of large bolts protruding about 3 inches in a large enough base should work if you do not have the original feet.

Stopped by a target tonight. For kicks went to check out tvs. They had the 42" Panny listed at $479. I doubled checked the dcpi on the tag and entered the dcpi in store and sure enough it was $239. I guess you can call it a reverse price mistake....

Anyways, so while I was looking at other tvs, some slickdealer calls asking about the 42 Panny and 40 Samsung among others, possibly a "tuesday checker". So this sales associate is quoting prices as he walks along the aisle. He said they didn't have the 42 Panny, which I guess is technically correct since they don't have any in the stockroom, but clearly they do have a display and at a much lower price than listed. He also made a half-hearted effort to look for the 42 Panny on the wall, but gave up after a cursory aisle scan and said they have a 50 and 55 inch Panny in the $700s and $900s, lol.

Just wanted to throw this out there for the original caller (you who also seemed interested in a 40 LG), and a lesson in general - don't be lazy, haul ass to the store. Oh and by the way - the store showed out of stock for the panny, but limited stock for another tv that I couldn't find. Target inventory system, though better than Staples, isn't perfect either.

Best place to get the genuine Panasonic 2011 3D glasses (3rd gen) is on eBay via sellers in Hong Kong. Expect to pay $65 - $70 a pair.

Or you can place a backorder with this site for ~$62:

No idea how accurate their incoming stock tracker is.

Lol I bought the Panasonic 55" st30 on 4/19 for $700 (they wouldn't budge on additional discounts since it came with everything except the box)...

My friend wanted one also after seeing mine in my sports room & hearing it was $700 for a panasonic 55" plasma, so based on the info here that prices are updated Monday, we thought it might drop to even lower than the $700 I paid.

Was hoping to get it for the $490 someone on here said they got it for. Then do a return & rebuy on mine with my receipt in wallet. We went to 3 stores that had it in stock (display only) & both stores had it for $890... $190 more than I paid last week.

I had a copy of my receipt for $700 in my wallet & showed it to the electronics csr, then the manager. The manager said that clearance varies by store location (same state/region.. Stores were about 15 mile radius of each other) & manager & he couldn't replicate that deal. He offered 10% off and no more ($800) even though his display had no stand, manuals or remote.. I said mine came with everything (tv, manuals, stand, remote) except box.. But he wouldn't budge.

the second store said lots of people were asking if it was $490 & he said he's firm on $890 no further discounts.

3rd the guy didn't even seem to want to talk to us & just had his handheld scanner, punched in the dcpi & said "it's $890 bro not $490".. then walked back to the mobile electronics counter

Since I doubt people will buy them up at $890, we will try again next week. For those that got it at $490 that is a steal (not found in So Cal)... When I saw mine for $700 & looked it up for $1099 on Amazon & $1k on a Panasonic epp deal in store on my iphone, i bought it right away.

Oh yeah, we tried the price scanner with the dcpi
008-09-1256 to make sure they weren't lying. on the right side of the price scanner display there are black buttons 0-9, enter & clear/cancel
You just type in the dcpi of the item in question, press enter, then it shows the current price, store isle location & if it's in the back room /quantity. For our search it came up as Panasonic 3d plasma $890 & change, isle in the electronics dept & n/a for back room which I guess means there are no new in box ones in the back.. Just the display model.

I took a pic of the price scanner display, but I'm posting this from my iPhone & don't see an option to attach pix from the mobile site.

I went to a local Target and saw that they had the Sony kdl40bx420 on display for 499.99. So I checked the price scanner and it said 289.99. I asked one of the employees, but he said they didn't have it, and the display one was a new kdl40bx420 model that just came out.

Did the employee straight up lie to me or was he telling the truth? Should have gone straight to the MOD also?

Sounds like a lie to me. A new model would not have the same model number.

Sometimes they mount the new model up but not taking the clearance price tag down. I have seen mismatched tag in my T last week (Samsung new model with Sony clearance tag!!).

You should of checked the model number on that Sony. the new 2012 models are bx450, the old one is bx420. If the model was 420, you could of bought that for $289.99, the display model but for that price, its still good.

Thanks for your suggetions. I wish this were the case with my TV. No screw holes. No feet. No manual. Nothing.

I left Target with the TV with one dangling metal bracket and a remote. It doesn't even stand up on its own because it's an LED. At least the Samsung will do that. I am at a loss with what else I can do with it. I can't even find a diagram online that shows what the stand looks like and "how" it attaches. At least that would give me some ideas/options.

So after my (annoying) ordeal with Target, I went to the local Walmart to check out prices. They have all of the 2012 models up on display and for sale.

They actually have most of the boxes underneath the display settings so I was looking through those and what do you know, I found the Sony 32" Model: KDL32BX320 brand new in box, last one.

I went to an employee and inquired about it and let him know that Target was having a "sale" (didn't mention clearance) on this exact set for $189.99. He brought the TV over and called over a manager. Of course some young punk kid comes strolling over and I tell him Target has this listed for 189 and you can call to verify, he wouldn't budge. He looked up the TV in their system and saw that it wasn't even listed in their system anymore but retail price for it was $389. We pushed back and forth and he wouldn't budge in price at all, he basically told me for that price "he'd" be losing too much on the set. Like its coming out of his pocket. I pushed a little harder and he got pist, said no deal and walked away. Young punk (can't believe he was the manager, he was rude as hell).

So I asked the employee to call over the store-store manager and she was awesome (not some guy just in charge of the electronics dept). She explained to me that they don't match clearance deals from competitors, if something was on sale and I actually had a competitors ad, she could PM. She did however scan it again and realized it wasn't in their system so she offered me the TV for $300.

I then said, ok, let me look around. I came across this years, 2012 Sony Bravia 32". Model: KDL32BX330 and they had it listed for $298! So I called the same nicer manager back and said why would you offer me a $300 "deal" on last years model when this years model is list for 298.... She kind of looked puzzle for a second and at that point had to drop the price on the 2011 model.

She bumped it down to $225. Still a GREAT deal for a Bravia (amazing picture) ,especially a brand new one still in box. Display model purchases are rather scary.

Moral of the Story: Go to Walmart and check out their stock that's usually right there on the display floor. You could run across last years models still and have them drop the price even though they won't match targets clearance deal. It is certainly worth a shot and you can even find a brand new one in box, not some display model thats been running non-stop for a long time. In comparison, we stopped by Meijer as well and I saw the exact same Sony 32", the one I just purchased, on the clearance table, the display model, for $279 (the clearance price). That put a little smile on my face.
