I'm allergic to shellfish and the smell of that is enough to make me
in high school, i was near the tail end of a cold and made myself a sandwich one morning: turkey, wheat bread, cheese, mustard. i sat down to eat it and watch SportCenter before leaving for class, and right in the middle of chewing a relatively large bite, the mucus mass dropped. i coughed, and before i knew it, my entire mouth was filled with a half-sandwich, half-snot/boogers mixture. the texture contrast of wheat bread crust and slime was disturbing to say the least.
my first instinct was to walk to the door and spit it out, but my dog was right outside, and i didn't want her trying to eat it. the nearest trash can was in the kitchen, so i considered going that route, but then thought, "i don't really want to waste the big bite of sandwich, and i've technically been swallowing mucus for the last week," so i just swallowed it all in one gulp. i finished the rest of the sandwich while trying to forget the incident and went off to school.
