Help on computer build

Hello,
novice SDer chiming in to say that, if you haven't already, you should take a good look at tomshardware for your baseline information on what's good in a gaming computer.

I have seen people reference tom's already, but not in any detail, so I'd like to make some more specific recommendations.

Tom's publishes a few sample builds every quarter (here's the overview from march! [tomshardware.com]) as well as a monthly article on both what's good in gaming CPUs [tomshardware.com] and what's good in graphics cards [tomshardware.com].

They also do a lot of in depth comparisons, for example, ever wonder if the GHz rating is a definitive scale of how good a cpu is? here's a very good comparison of several popular AMD and intel chips limited to 1 core and 3GHz speed each:

Anyways, that's probably more depth than you asked for, but I know SDers do love to be well informed.
