Am not sure if i get your question right.....am thinking more on the lines like this since its a in-store offer.
First, you get the kindle wifi from staples for $55+tax after you use the 25off coupon.
Then, when you bring that receipt to walmart and ask them to give the kindle to you at
the same final price as in staples receipt......and then also ask/get the walmart gift card that comes along with it....just my thought.

That would be a huge YMMV I work at a WalMart and I know some of the managers would pm it and others wouldn't. It just depends

Can I drag and drop files(pdfs) onto the kindle or do I have to use a special program?

I have lots of magazine pdfs that I would love to read on this instead of my PC. But how does the Kindle handle the color images? Does it grayscale them, or display a blank?

You will prolly lag so much, especially that those sites are https. The Experimental browser is good for basic gmail viewing and wikipedia, but that's it really. I have the Kindle Touch and it's not bad at all.

You can't drag and drop files on it, you can download a program called Calibre (which is free) then you can tag which files you want to put on the kindle. Its easy to do.

Forget reading PDFs on this Kindle. Especially magazines. You'll just have tiny pages, that aren't even readable in landscape. If they're not already reflowable, you can get some reflowed by sending them through Amazon (at your cost) to convert. That works ok for novels, if you're not disturbed by lousy formatting. But who wants a reflowed magazine, especially if you're asking about the pics?

PDF reading is the wrong reason to get a Kindle; a Kindle is the wrong tool to read PDFs. Most other brands do better at displaying PDFs, but no one thinks a 6" e-reader displays PDFs well.

I agree, I have lots of trouble trying to read PDFs because they set such huge margins on most so they don't really use the space well in the Kindle. Even when I convert stuff in Calibre, it still ends up funky since the headers/footers end up getting interspersed into the rest of the text.

How come when you search Walmart.com you don't even see the $79 Kindle listed? Is this in-store only?
