Congrats !!!! Way not to buckle, hate it when consumers do.
Would you mind posting the MSRP and breakdown?
For folks reading this thread, DO NOT MENTION IT TO THE ST(D)EALER. This has nothing to do with them.
If I had you as a customer, I would of kicked you out of the dealership with the quickness. If you are getting a good deal, don't be a prick and push it more. Your just wasting your own time as well as the salesman's time and effort, because he is getting paid the same amount of money once you decide to do an internet deal. The time he had invested with you in those 3 weeks is less than what a person would get paid in minimum wage. So treat yours salesmen nicely, if you have worked with him online.
Hi there, I believe this is definitely replicable! I found out about this deal in the edmunds.com toyota camry forum where several others have confirmed receiving. You may have to put a bit of effort into it, but a lot easier than chasing down a clearance TV at Target!
Don't forget to disable ALL pop-up blockers. And remember that advertising these days is more targeted than ever, so I think it's safe to assume your clicks on the Edmunds website are logged and the resulting pop-ups are actually something more than completely random. To that end, I suspect your actions on site can help increase the odds you receive the pop-up rebate offer I mentioned.
Here's what I did:
First, I am a registered member of the forums and was logged in as such rather than logged in as a 'visitor'. I mention that in case targeted pop-ups are delivered to registered members only.
Second, I was researching 2012 Camry's and clicked through most if not all the associated new car pricing, photo gallery, current incentives etc. links. Again, I mention that in case targeted pop-ups are click dependent. Maybe the advertising genius' have determined that folks who click 10, 20 , 30? times is what separates the wheat from the chaff and qualifies as a real live hot prospect deserving of a targeted pop-up. IMHO, this is a large enough cash incentive to sway many from another brand or to buy now, and a real score if you were going to buy this vehicle anyways! However, it is also large enough that I doubt Toyota really wants to indiscriminately pepper the Internet with them.
Third, after spending a few minutes doing this without seeing the ad pop up, I noticed that whenever i moved back or to a new page, the ad animations windows would replay the same animation. So I logged off and refreshed my browser a few times just in case the ad's were both click AND visit counter dependent. That seemed to do it for me, the ad popped right when I re-opened the edmunds.com home page.
Whether any of this matters or is pure coincidence, I dunno... But that's what I did and I like others have a $750 rebate form in hand. I like too that this is valid for more than just a few days, ie. I intend to wait until the 1st of the month when new incentives are announced (hoping last month's $500 manufacturer rebate returns). I should add, there is also currently another 'special' rebate for either $500 or an iPad2 on 2012 Corolla and Camry if that floats your boat but I believe it expires end of this month, google is your friend.
what are some people's price before TTL? I got $2000 below MSRP from USAA, and wondering if I should haggle for options / lower price for a 2012 Corolla LE. The price quoted by USAA was $16800ish which already included $200 doc fee, $700ish destination fee, and $370ish regional advertising fee.
I will qualify for recent grad program plus this $750 rebate. Would be slick if I can get it to come out to around $15000 + TTL.
