That stinks. I think provider of the household is the best play. Gambalung said a few days ago that LP can track +UP usage on employee cards. No reason why they can't do the same for our cards, so any mix & matched UP's between cards may be vulnerable to merges also.
I was trying to help someone who said they were getting back into RA, that's all.
I was booted from the other group because I hadn't posted in over 10 days and I hurt the feelings of the owner of the board because my dial-up wasn't allowing my posts to stick. She felt it was an attack on her board, but that wasn't the case at all. I thought you were over there under another name, so this shouldn't be news to you. I did not intentionally hurt her feelings and none of my posts, as you should know, were ever removed over there.
Your post in the weekly wasn't consistent with what you posted here just a few weeks ago. I try to post based on facts, not snark. It takes 2 seconds to make a mark on an up and since several have mentioned the technology existed I thought it would be nice to mention it to someone that hasn't done RA lately. You made it into something ugly, but I don't think you understood what I was saying, so I clarified.
I'm not going to go back and forth with you. I just quoted your words back to you, since you must not have recalled them when you posted in the weekly.
Reps are back...for now. I owe loads of gratitude to everyone that got me where I am! Read the *NEW* CVS FAQ and post your questions there. Let's keep the deal threads deal-related, please. Would it kill you to read the wiki? Or to read the thread? All the experts got to where they are by reading...you can too.
By the way, I read the wiki, and it didn't kill me.
Here, a family of 4 on assistance gets almost $800 a month in food stamps, plus all the other credits/assistance. Why should they use coupons? I was in line at the GC one day and one snotty little B#*#* behind me said "Get Snap (food assistance) and you would not need to use those coupons".
I'm sorry you had that happen to you. Such snarkiness.
I was curious about that amount for food stamps you referenced, because, well, that's really high. I was surprised to find that, although you were a bit off, frankly the number is still high for those states that might give out this max benefit:
It is interesting to note the difference between the max amount one could receive, and the actual average that people do receive.
Here's the reference link [cbpp.org] if anyone would like it.
My personal experience is with a friend of mine recently. Her husband got cancer. I am very appreciative of the kindness of many SDrs who raokd her (at my request) coupons for Boost and Ensure. They were middle class, two income, with his being the predominant income. He could not work while doing chemo/radiation etc. They finally were approved for something like 3 months of food stamps. I can't remember how much it was - $300 or $400 I'm thinking.
She is a couponer, so of course, she told me, "LIO, I'm going to do everything I can to get as much food as I can while I have the food stamps." Meaning, by using coupons, she maxed out the use of those food stamps.
3 months of food stamps. For a family that was down to 1 part time income, some disability money for her husband. To say things were tight is an understatement. In my friends situation, her family came to their rescue and helped them out with a number of their bills. That 3 months of food stamps was really such a small amount of assistance.
I hear a lot of stories of people abusing food stamps, etc. But every time personally I meet someone who has gotten food stamps, it's been a very small amount of time limited assistance, and the person has utilized those food stamps very well. I'm not saying people don't abuse food stamps or other services. I just think there's always people who abuse things at all income levels.
Going back to Nuffsaid's reference...My regular RA is in a high-income area. I get far more people curious about my shopping and liking to watch me than I get the toe-tapping, sighing people. Don't get me wrong - I have had my share of the Trophy Wives tapping their heels and trying to scowl at me but not being able to because their face has been botoxed.
Far more often, though, I am apologetic for my order taking so long as the person behind me inevitably is buying 1 bottle of aspirin. But the vast majority of time, the person will tell me it's no problem and they'll ask me a question about where I get all the coupons, and how much I save.

Sybil had something like 23 different personalities. Sally Field played her in a movie of the
same name. She could be a chat group all by herself.
I don't even know what the Sybil reference was, but LOL for the fact that you referenced that movie! I had an odd friend in college that was obsessed with that movie.
