RITE AID CHAT THREAD

This thread is being created for us to come and talk/chat. The Rite Aid Deals thread is for the deal talk. So hopefully this thread will help decrease the off topic chatter in the deals thread and we all have a place to chat with each other. nod

Wanted to add that this chat group will follow the same rules of the Lounge. Rules are located here: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=1091306

Hi! I'm not sure where else to put this. I bought a package of Rite Aid brand pseudophredine from the pharmacy and received a catalina for a free package of Breathe Right strips, 10ct ($7.49 value). So if you anticipate needing some this season, I'd recommend grabbing it at RA. Smilie

There had been so much talk in the RA forum about MQ overage and how it is against RA policy and we need to respect that. I am not going to argue the morality of that, BUT

I would like to know what is RA's responsibility, when according to their policy that they are to adjust the MQ so there is no overage.

I understand that the hard copy of the MQ's are still presented to the manufacturer. I wonder if RA tells them....please only pay me $1.50 of the $2 MQ that they present because it is overage. And I don't believe for a second that RA does not get reimbursed for Qs that don't scan. So, doesn't RA get unduly enriched?

If they adjust the MQ, however do they balance their cash drawer and more importantly how do they balance their books?

But what I really find unconscionable is holding minimum wage cashiers responsible for catching overage under penalty of termination. In my very busy store, do they really expect the cashiers to look at every Q? I can't tell you the griping that goes on in the lines of my store and how many walk out because of the lines. Lost sales vs Q overage?

But, RA management has never been very smart and that's why they teetered on bankruptcy for many years.

I think you are right ... big companies like RA just send out the paper Qs to the clearance-house ... "Here are 500 $4 Qs for Gillette Proglide" (let's say) ... we are Riteaid ...we order 1000s of Proglides every month ... and they must be getting paid for those 500 without question.

i know its more then likely just wishful thinking but.....seeing the new promotions starts tommorrow and they will be "activating" the products that count seeing its still the same sale week with the aveeno it would be nice if once they turned on the aveeno we could get credit for it if we bought it this week. be it the full amount we spent or just what we have for left over tracking.....it just seems like it would be too complicated for rite aid to activate aveeno (and any thing else that is on sale this week/ and that counts)but not to block whats already been done? idk like i said probably just wishful thinking LOL

Anybody notice how the RA deal forum are being scrubbed of any controversy? Any kind of sharp words between posters are deleted. This is in sharp contrast to the Hot Deals forum.

I am not a fan of snark, but why not leave the posts as they were...warts and all. Nothing is resolved by removing the posts...the bad feelings remain and not communicated to others. They just fester and reappear. Snark continues, and no one knows how the community feels without free expression. Just sayin'

do bogo coupons with a max value auto deduct at RA? I know CVS's system allows it but never tried it at RA. I have the BIC bogo coupon from 1/6 and they would make some cheap razors and count for the 50 anniversay promo.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether RA fixed the 'clip' feature on +ups loaded to your card? During the test time the +ups would disappear if they were unclipped. Just thinking it would be nice if I could clip the +ups I wanted to use on my phone just before checking out. TIA

I lost my 20% discount this yr bc I hardly shopped last yr :/ I've been trying to get back in to the groove at RA. So last night I drove to my old fav Rite Aid in the hood to pick up some Keri and Garnier. The asst manager was there unpacking a box of Keri and refused to give me more than 1 because he'd been waiting for them to come in to buy for himself. As I'm checking out, i started chatting w/ the cashier and he made a comment abt the Keri -- mentioning how the asst man. bought so many this week. Surprisingly, I kept my cool and didn't call the DM (although i have his # Big Grin ). Ugh i'm trying to make nice with this store as I plan on going to RA more this yr. Any advice?

You have no proof that the AM saved them for himself. The Keri IAQ does say "one per customer" so you really don't have much of a leg to stand on.

Try to go another time and stay on the DL about it. Bring a friend to get another if you can. For me, I save complaints to the DM for things that I am clearly right about. You don't want to get a rep with the store and the DM about the crazy complainer, who complains about everything. Just my opinion.

Not sure if this is legal, but some employee from Riteaid in my area sent a picture of me having a yard sale selling some of my Riteaid stuff to the district manager. He called me today and told me I was banned from all of the Riteaid stores in his district. Is this allowed?

Legally allowed to ban you? Very likely. As long as they do not deny service to so-called protected groups based on religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, age, handicaps (have I forgotten any?), then I think private businesses have a lot of discretion about who they have to serve. Some stores require a membership - no card, no service. And ever see the sign \"no shoes, no shirt, no service\"?
