Welcome to the New Main Kmart Deals Thread!!

Shopping at KMart can be an adventure! Even if you're a seasoned couponer, KMart still can be quite a learning curve. Please take a moment to read the FAQ. Most repeated questions that are asked in the thread, can be found below
.

Thanks to Serra, we now have 4 Wikis for the KMart thread, which will hopefully make the information a lot easier to navigate.

This is Wiki #1, and it will give you a quick tutorial on shopping at KMart. Wiki #2 will contain the latest highlights & matchups for the current week ad. Wiki #3 will contain the latest highlight & matchups for the current monthly ad. Last but not least, Wiki #4 will contain our Cheapies, Clearance, and Catalina finds

SHOPPING AT KMART FAQ

SYWR Card = Shop Your Way Rewards Card. A KMart Savings Card that you must sign up for if you want to take advantage of deals here! Earn 10 points for every dollar you spend. You can redeem the points at a rate of 1,000 points = $1. Points can be redeemed at KMart, Sears, and Lands End. You must have an email address on your account to earn bonus offers - if you do not have an email address, you will typically only earn base points (no bonuses). It is definitely worthwhile to use a valid email address to receive special email promotions; some are quite generous. As a bonus-level member, you're eligible for additional Bonus Offers and other perks and rewards. Your SYWR card will be suspended if you do multiple back-to-back transactions (this number changes regularly but you're usually safe at around 5 transactions) on the same register and with the same cashier. If you plan on doing more than a few transactions, it's best to do a few with one cashier at one register and a few with a different cashier at a different register - even if you have to go to the service desk. This is a security feature designed to prevent cashiers from using a member's account to rack up points and then redeem them for their own benefit. If your card is suspended, you will still earn points for your purchases, but you cannot redeem them until the suspension has been lifted. To have the suspense lifted, contact SYWR Customer Service, call 1.800.991.8708, Monday - Sunday, 8 am - 11 pm, Central Standard Time.

SYWR VIP Levels = The SYWR Card offers several VIP levels based on your annual spend (calcuated before coupons!). Each level comes with different "benefits".

SYWR BONUS POINTS OFFERS =
You must have an email address on your account to earn bonus offers
KMart runs deals weekly strictly for SYWR members, and often times those offers include earning bonus points on certain purchases. These offers can be confusing, but if you follow the guidelines below, everything should work in your favor. If an offer states "Recieve a COUPON for $X (X points) when you spend $X on ____", KMart counts the amount towards this threshold BEFORE any coupons are used. However, if the offer simply states "Recieve XX bonus points ($X value) when you spend $X on ____" then KMart requires you to spend the necessary amount AFTER coupons are redeemed. Clear as mud, right? Just remember if you see the word COUPON, it means total BEFORE Qs.

CRT = Cash Register Tape Coupon. Prints after reciept. Usually a $/$ that you can roll into the next transaction. Generally speaking P&G CRT's are the only ones that do not roll. You can only redeem one CRT per transaction. Redeeming a CRT does not negate another CRT from printing.

CAT = Catalina (Red/White Coupon). Comes from the Catalina machine at the end of your purchase. Always make sure the Catalina machine is on, and note that the Customer Service Desks DO NOT have these machines. As long as a CAT says MFR COUPON at the top, you should be able to redeem along with a CRT. If the CAT says STORE COUPON, you can NOT combine with a CRT in the same transaction.

CSP= Check Shelf Price. When an item scans CSP, the item should be 50%-90% off. For more info read Kmart 101 by adawn80

SUPER COUPONS= KMart issues "Super Coupons" in both their weekly and monthly ads. In order to use the Super Coupons, you must use your SYWR Card.

Weekly Super Coupons: Limits are stated in each Q, and the Q will either be for a specific price, or take off a specific dollar amount for each item that attaches to the coupon. For example, if the coupon is for $1 off a widget, limit 5, when your card is scanned, your total will be reduced by $5 if you are buying 5 widgets.

Monthly Super Coupons: You must spend $25 in grocery, health or beauty care to use. Total is calculated before manufacture's coupons, but after Kmart Store coupons. The item you are using the coupon on does NOT count toward the $25 total. All monthly super coupons are a limit of 1 per transaction, however you can do multiple transactions and use additional coupons, as long as you meet the $25 threshold for each transaction.

yes, the total has to be $15 OOP AFTER any coupons/surprise points..and since you have to pay OOP to get this deal, on second purchase if you want points back you shouldnt use the points from first transaction, or use points plus pay $15 OOP (eg: do a larger transaction lets say $45, use $15/40 coupon and $15 points from Trans1 and still pay $15 OOP). If you dont care about the points for second transaction and just want to get the points over with, you can use them right away if your receipt says points earned..cashier can check and tell you how many points you have..

Thank you sooo much! i didn't want to not get the points and the people I asked in the store didn't know so I appreciate the help! One other question, I can use the points on anything right? looking at some sporting good items. Thanks again.

you're welcome..hug

yes, you can use the points on anything..so if you have a purchase you would be doing anyways, make the best use of coupons and points back offers (do multiple transactions)..then finally use the points on something you actually want..its like you're getting freebies for buying something you would have bought anyway..

there is a SYW coupon trading thread in Deal Talk and if you can get a points back code for cheap by trade, you can do online points back offers with points back coupon and $$/$$ coupon and then use the points on items you want..there is a limit of how many times you can use a 30 back 30 etc (I dont much about that)..I traded my $$/$$ coupon for amz gc, then turned around and traded that amz gc for points back coupon..

my store had only 40% signs for clearance yesterday..have to check and see if they're still doing the 15 back 15 clearance points offer..

Anyone know of any items that give 100% points back? and are there any coupons (dollar off or points back) that can be combined? I need to make 2 separate twin mattress purchases, so getting some freebies while making the purchase would be good..I have only around $15 points on DH's acct and around $19 on mine, so I have to spend OOP anyways..cursing myself for not doing the office supplies and other deals from past few weeks..

also, are there any points back dealson home purchases (besides the $10 on $30)?

Thanks
Hi Wave I need to look tiny mattresses for my boys since we have ancient hand-me-downs. What is the price point of what you are seeing at Kmart? I assume it is online but I have never really looked in store yet.

I was just thinking of getting something off amazon but that might be a better idea.

Wave The one I was looking at was $129.99 (Serta skyfield) for a Twin mattress..I checked in store and seems decent..there is also one for $59.99 online (reg 69.99) but looks kind of thin..not sure how it would hold up..Is $129.99 a good price? I figured with a $25/100 and a 30 back 30 it might make a good deal. Hoping those q;s will work on the mattress..If you find anything better before the week is up, please LMK..I can just return all the stuff I bought and forfeit the points..$30 points posted today and it expires Oct 1st..WTH..such a short time frame..

If memory serves, this was addressed back when the office supply promo began and since the terms state that the better points back offer will apply, there aren't any other coupons that will stack unless you have a sitewide automatic promo like 10% or 5% back in points. No one had any codes that would stack if I recall.
