So I finally got some time to look into the whole points back coupons being changed to work only on OOP.
I found that the typical ones used (don't have any of the rare ones or store closing ones) will show up as one of the three:
- Earn $x in points when you spend $y or more on qualified items with coupon <-- not OOP
- Members get $x in points (x * 1000 points) when you spend $y or more, on your next purchase with coupon <-- not OOP
- QB--Members get $x back in points (x * 1000 points) when you spend $y or more with coupon. Bonus points earned on this offer expire 90 Days from receipt. <-- OOP
So it's coupons with that last one that requires you to pay the $y amount from OOP. I think on that day SYW changed some coupons (a minority) to that category.
The coupon I use most often happened to fall victim to that change (checked old emails). So I stand corrected. RIP you magnificent coupon.
Good catch! You should post this in the SWYR thread:
Sighted in store - Disney Infinity Toy Box 3DS Starter set*, $6.00 (90% off).
*The Starter set is for a Nintendo 3DS handheld; it includes a game, 3 of the playable figures, and the "portal" hardware so that they can interact. Full price is $59.99, to buy the parts separately would probably be about $70-80 retail.
