You should qualify for a new machine, and might want to speak to your physician about that. You're certainly compliant! The newer models require less amps. And yeah, once use to it they're miraculous. It's going to cost you to make it portable in the situation and short time you need it for. You definitely would miss it and lose your sleep those days; but it's not mandatory to your survival. Costs + hassle vs time needed + peace of mind/comfort...
I had to have mine for a min of 5 years before upgrading to a new one....not sure if that is a CA thing or a FED rule...YMMV
THANK YOU to those whom have fought and are fighting for our FREEDOM
Actually, there is another, cheaper option if your CPAP really uses 12V instead of an 115V A/C cord directly attached.
Does your machine use a wall-wart type plug? If so, check the voltage on the plug. If it is 12V (mine used to be, years ago), then you can connect directly to your car battery for about $20 with a long cord like this one[cpap-experts.com], but you can get it much cheaper than Respironics wants to rape you for.
This link worked...your other post links to this post.
I just checked my ResMed Escape II CPAP and it also has a dc input
I've a Jeep with regular outlets, no issues with running a CPap with humidifier without running the vehicle, will also run on an inverter plugged into lighter; but you'd need a long extension cord to bring it into a campsite; or pitch your tent real close. Otherwise you probably need a portable generator...
