Thread cleaning of the 'Contests & Sweepstakes' section
I was in the 'Contests & Sweepstakes' section just yesterday and sorted the threads by category with the 'Daily' ones on top. This ended up with me clicking on some threads that had already expired. Can we clean that section up and get rid of the expired ones? Or require the end date of sweepstakes be posted in the title would help a lot. I clicked on some that did not specify the end date. Then there were two instances where I filled and submitted an entry and I get a message stating that the contest had ended earlier than stated. Or maybe we can have a sub forum for 'Daily' categories so we can just sort by post date and know which ones are new and valid. Just a suggestion.

we can only hope and ask the OP of the contest thread to add the expiration date on the title. if the expiration date is not on the title, 9 out of 10 times it is in the first post.
there are two options (that i can think of) you can do to help yourself.... 1. click on the "daily" icon to just see all the daily contests, or 2. 'personal sticky' the ones you enter on a daily basis. once it has expired, unsticky it and it'll disappear off your front page. a mod will not delete it unless the original poster ask for their thread to be deleted. to have a mod sort through what's expired and what's not is tedious work. |

I DO NOT think expired threads should be deleted...once I won a sweeps and got the notification 2 months after the end date and the only place I could find the link to the OFFICIAL RULES was on SD. The sweeps had removed it from the entry page but the direct link to the rules posted in the OP worked great! (the reason I always post the entry link AND the official rules link) I really even think that by having the expiration date in the thread title, a little discussion about the prizing in an expired sweeps thread is okay....with the end date clearly listed one can easily see that the bumping isn't about entering anymore it is about prizing and then decide whether to look in the thread. Often these get moved to "Deal talk" but sadly...that takes the thread away from the very forum where the people who may have the answers are. just a few thoughts.... just
let yourself be happy |
