Not a bad price to try out an LED, but keep in mind the generic brands are FAR behind the name brands at this point, and LEDs are going to be much cheaper/better within just a few years. I'm sticking with CFLs for now -- which use roughly the same power, btw. But yeah, if these end up being not so hot, don't let it sour you on LED technology forever.

I have these lights and am SHOCKED at how hot the "fins" or heat sink gets. I thought LED's were supposed to produce almost no heat. These produce more heat than CFL's but less than incandescent lights.

i think the LG led bulb at costco is few cent cheaper, i paid 12.xx for 2...

In for a few. I'll try these out and see what I think. 40W is not very much, but worth it just to experiment with it.
We'll see how they get better, but I'm hoping for a time when all light bulbs are replaced once every 5 yrs :-D.

These Newegg bulbs appear to be of lower quality and harsher light. LED bulbs which can simulate an incandescent will set you back $40-$60/each. These cheap LED's in the bathroom will make you look like a zombie in the mirror. |
