I find that their clothing runs true to size or even a bit small, but I'm a 5'2 petite so it might make a difference. I used to LOVE Talbots but then they changed their return policy and I haven't been there in about 2 years or so. I just don't get how they think you can buy from a website and not allow returns. That is just insane.
And no prices aren't this low in regular B&M but they are in the outlet B&M and they have dressing rooms!! |

Yay for frontpage!
As for the people asking questions about sizing and ordering online, I would suggest that you spend some time trying things on at a regular store. I normally would never buy things online that cannot be returned, but it is worth it when Talbots has these online sales. When I am getting 12 things for under 100 bucks, if one or two don't fit or flatter, I can throw them in the donation box without much worry. I find that Talbots is extremely consistent in their sizing among the same cuts or types of items. In other words, one "Jackie" jacket in size 12 will fit the same as another. But a "Jackie" jacket in size 12 will not fit the same as a "Grace" jacket in size 12 at all. The same is their "Heritage" and "Signature" pants. So if you try some different fits on at the store, then you can know your sizes and best cuts and order with little fear. If it helps, Heritage pants and Grace jackets run a full size large for me, Signature pants, Modern pants, and Jackie jackets run smaller. Sweaters are close in size to the tees, unless it is a sweater that is more like a jacket, which seems to run a size bigger. Their shoes are ridiculous--nice quality but very narrow and smallish with no padding. I would say that the sizing is approximately the same as Gap/ BR, but cut for a more womanly body. While I am in my early 30s and not the target market for Talbots, I appreciate the quality and more flattering cut after 3 kids! Last edited by craezie; 04-19-2012 at 04:03 PM.. |

They last a long time and great quality. I find their sizing to be the same as other brands/stores. Just depends on your feet I suppose! They fit me really well. I'm looking for boots/heels/flats w/out padding. The only shoes I want padding in are athletic shoes!
