The new Intel SSDs are out, or about to be on the market. I keep telling myself to wait and I can get a 120-128GB SSD for about $75 or less. Then I'm buying. Well, I think, cuz if I wait another month or two it will probably be $10 or more cheaper. Damn.

I just bought the 240gb OCZ on the tiger direct deal. Glad to see this one on newegg cause they charge tax to my state and after tax tiger direct was still cheaper. As for the drive its been decent. Very fast, two blue screens so far but thats not too bad compared to the crucial M4 that never worked right. The OCZ came with the latest firmware already installed.

is the Vertex 4 worth the extra $20 over a Crucial M4? I'm trying to piece together a new desktop. Not really sure which route I should go.
I'd really like reliability as this will be my home computer and mainly for work and school. Speed is an obvious plus too |

Sorry for this dumb question, but I'm new to SSD (thanks to SD), and am tempted to get one. But I have a dumb question - does installing a 120GB SSD mean I have to forego my original 500GB hard drive? So I will only have a laptop with 120GB memory space?

Example: SSD would be C: with Windows installed on it 500 GB HD would be D: for storage that's how mine is set up |

Wish I could but I can't, Waiting like everyone else for the price to drop, There the last to hold out I guess and they can't stay in the game without dropping down $$$$$$ Soon I'm sure

I got 2 of the Petrols from a few weeks back, and my buddy got one of them. They all three failed within three days of installation - one of them within 20 minutes. I'm happy my primary SSD is an Intel 320. I won't ever purchase an OCZ drive again.

these will be cheaper than regular 7200 rpm soon lol.. OCZ, once you update the firmware, wont have a problem. I have one in my laptop, and one in each of my family's 3 computers for over a year now.. no problems at all
