The trade in can be any DVD that has a case/artwork and barcode though I have had some Best Buys accept just the disc in a paper sleeve or a single DVD in a case from a set without barcode -YMMV (as long as it's not a bootleg/burned copy).

Last time I decided I wanted to buy a blu-ray priced at $9.99 or higher, I ran into the dollar store next to the Best Buy and bought a DVD (for $1) just to save $5 (or effectively $4).

I may be wrong, but my guess is that BB B&M won't price match to Amazon, but BB.com might except you can't use the upgrade coupon online.

i found a few older 5 $ off coupons in my glove compartment this week..anyone know if Best Buy cares about the exp dates on em? They are from when they did a similar deal back in Jan..i kept em as they didn't have the movies i wanted in stock that day and i forgot about em lol I have other dvd's i could trade in but would hate to toss these if i don't have to.

If the UPC on the coupon is the same, which is unlikely, and the cashier does not look at the dates you should be fine.

My store is just crossing off on the reciept when you trade in so you could just attach a "new" trade coupon to your old reciept to fix the UPC issue, but of course you would need to recycle at least one more DVD to get the new coupon.

Went today. Took in 5 old dvds. I picked up the MI Ghost Protocol exclusive for $14.99, The Neverending Story for $4.99 and the Descendants and When Harry Met Sally for $1.99 each after the coupons.com coupons. Not bad for about $26 total after tax.

I'm saving my last coupon for Underworld on Tuesday.

Went again today. All of the Blu-rays that are eligible for $10 Movie Cash to see Battleship, Snow White and the Huntsman, and The Bourne Legacy were available now with the movie cash stickers on them. I hadn't seen them in Best Buys before. See this thread for more info:

dollar tree, but the ones around me have mostly sold out!

they had some titles like 1408, scary movie 4, silver city... etc. kinda slim pickins but who cares how crappy the movies are!

thanks, traded in jumper(glad I didn't pay for that crap in the first place) and some random other loose dvd where I don't know where the case is - they didn't seem to care it was loose since they just recycle them.

got evil dead 2 for 7.99 and some lego star wars with a minifig in it for the same, as well as assasins creed steelbook for pre ordering - they also are doing dog tags with COD black ops pre order although I don't need another rehash of the same thing
