Install TV Wall Mount On To Basement Wall
I want to place a tv wall mount onto my basement wall, the wall is covered with paneling. My plan was to remove a section of the paneling (a section no bigger than the wall mount itself) & then install the mount. Then paneling is attach to small wood studs which are themselves attached to the concrete wall. The mount comes with lag screws as well as concrete anchors. I have yet to remove the particular section of paneling were the mount will be installed, I have in the past took a look behind the paneling because I was contemplating replacing it all with drywall, but I am not completely certain in the studs are spaced 16 inches apart (I know it will be easy for to check right now). My question is, if the studs are 16in apart, would there be an issue installing the lag screws through the studs & concrete? Or should I try to install the the mount to just the concrete itself using the anchors? if the studs are in the way of me install the mount to the concrete wall do I remove the studs? I have install to tv mounts in the past, but the mounts were screwed into wood studs (and I guess drywall). Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

through the wood into the concrete. if they gave you the plastic inserts to use with the lags i would consider using the lead anchors. Tapcons would work also but i would use more than required.
For me it's Lags and lead anchors for those that hate spelling mistakes www.walmarts.com

Are they 2x4 studs or are they furring strips? Many basements have the paneling installed with furring strips. If it is 2x4s, I would remove the paneling where you want to install the mount, then install a 2x6 between the studs as an installation point for the TV mount.

btw: If you don't feel like going through the hassle of removing a piece of paneling, locate the tv mount on the wall where you want it, mark the holes where you want them, and use a hole saw (on a drill) to drill out a small plug from the paneling. Then use the same hole saw to cut a plug from a piece of wood or else use washers or bolts to fill the void and just mount it like that. Your TV will cover it all anyway so no biggie.
