Philips L-Prize Winning LEDs (10-watt light bulbs)
I'm a happy owner of several 12.5-watt Philips AmbientLEDs, and am really looking forward to the release of the L-Price bulb this Sunday (Earth Day). It's been unfairly lambasted in the media for its $50 pre-rebate price, however hundreds of local power utilities will be offering instant rebates that could knock the price down by up to half. With this bulb being 50% more efficient (lumens per watt) than any current LED or fluorescent, this bulb could be a super slick deal.My question is, where will the bulb be sold the cheapest? A news story [yahoo.com] mentioned that Cape Light Compact, Efficiency Vermont, Platte River Power Authority (Colorado) and Long Island Power Authority will be offering rebates of $15 - $25. Anybody know of more utilities and their discounts? Last edited by Laszlo; 04-18-2012 at 09:29 PM.. |

According to this article [9news.com], Georgians are out of luck. No utility rebates in the state currently.

I would think so, but I would want to know for sure about these bulbs in particular before I bought them. |
