While the Centurion card does have some nice benefits, none of that applies here.
1) The OP said he doesn't travel often. Almost all of the real perks for Amex Platinum/Centurion are travel related.
2) The OP is primarily concerned with points. The Platinum/Centurion offer relatively horrible point earnings, and even more mediocre redemption options.

Don't get me wrong, the Centurion has some uber sweet perks that, if you travel a lot, more than make up for the hefty annual fee. But in this case, I think it's a horrible option. It's mainly geared to very rich people, or those that spend a ton of money, and want that flashy "i'm cool" card.

The OP is asking for advice about something. He specified all the information needed to answer said question. The other person you feel the need to defend asked what he sells, which, as I said, is irrelevant here. The question itself was 'butting' in to the OP's personal business. If he wanted to share that, I'm sure he would have. And yet when I point that out, you feel the need to tell me to 'but out'. Ironic, no?

Anyway, why don't you actually READ what I said. My first comment:

Was obviously a joke. But I guess that went over your head. When the other guy responded back saying he wanted specific answers and not vague responses, I responded back with:

I wasn't "defending" anyone with that comment, I simply stated a fact. What difference does what the OP sells matter? Whether he sells trinkets, gadgets or dildos, in the end none of that matters. You immediately jump in with some BS "but out" response, which was unnecessary, misspelled and (as I mentioned before) quite hypocritical. Not only did you "butt" into my exchange with someone else, but you accuse me of defending someone who doesn't need to be defended, but at the same time are doing the exact same thing.

Why don't you go back to being a lurker. I think it was working out better for you.

What is the best card for this kind of use?
I have a friend who asked me the same thing (well close...okay okay about half of what OP spends in a year) when I started talking about the whole credit card game.
