With the SPG Amex you can redeem points only or points+cash on all SPG properties. It should translate to somewhere between 3 to 5 cents per dollar in terms of redemption value. Even if you don't stay at SPG yourself you can impress visiting clients by booking them into nice hotels. Also Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa is a pretty good all-rounder, 5% gas / 3% supermarket / 1% everything. I'm surprised that your vendors would be ok taking the CC fees on that much merchandise. A more realistic approach would be paying cash and negotiating down the 3-4% CC fees that the vendor would otherwise have to pay. If you're buying 100K in inventory that's at least a few grand in savings. |
