Pros: Looks cool

Cons: The throat microphone unfortunately pics up all the game noise coming from your TV or 5.1 sound system. Now first I thought that maybe I had the volume turned up to loud for the mic. To test this I changed back to my Xbox mic that came with the 360 and that head set wasn't picking up the TV or the 5.1 sound system.

To be fully sure I turned the volume down on the system to a very low level something lower than I would use to play Gears 3, and the headset was picking up everything.

The Nail in the coffen was the poor sound quality of my voice when talking with team mates. I have played with these guys for awhile now, and they all said it was garballed that they couldn't understand a work other than I had a new mic. In short they hated it.

Now the ear piece was a bit hinky but you could hear just fine with it, the con with the ear piece was the constant hum of the headset its self.

Other Thoughts: Throat mics are used in high noise environments such as fire crash rescue, (where I have used these). This item just didn't work.

Now I could have had a bad unit, and its going back. If the other unit I get works better than Ill change my review from a 1 to what I feel the product actually is worth. But if all the Gears 3 throat mics are like this one, save your money and stay away from it.

Thanks OP, picked up a throat communicator. Always wanted to try one of those out, and at this price, I won't be too disappointed if I don't like it.
