Thread Details

Every so often there's a deal posted about a great deal on a refrigerator, dishwasher, or stove by themselves, which is great. My guess is a lot of people are in a situation like myself that are moving to a new residence or simply trying to remodel their old kitchen. I'm starting this thread to keep a master list of all current package deals.

I've already bought a stainless steel appliance set, but I wanted to avoid people having to go through the same trouble I went through trying to find the best deal.

Home Depot
Hint: Home Depot sometimes has appliances on clearance, close-out, or on sale. You can sometimes negotiate further by stating you will purchase all three appliances if they cut you a bigger break, especially since managers are eager to push these stock out. Once you've negotiated, you can use 10% coupon, commonly available here: http://www.homedepotmoving.com/Si...32-c-77154

Lowes
Hint: Lowes sometimes has appliances on clearance, close-out, or on sale. You can sometimes negotiate further by stating you will purchase all three appliances if they cut you a bigger break, especially since managers are eager to push these stock out. Once you've negotiated, you can use 10% coupon, commonly available here: https://www.lowesmoving.com/register/step1.asp

HHGreg
Hint: HHGreg regularly has deals on Appliance Packages consisting of a Refrigerator, Stove, and Dishwasher (usually same brand name). Go in and ask about any of these sales. These sales regularly discount the price of the package by 10-20% or possibly more.

Brandsmart
Hint: Brandsmart's prices are somewhat negotiable. Negotiate a price on a refrigerator. After that, attempt to negotiate further by adding dishwasher and stove.

Costco
Hint: Look out for appliance coupons in their monthly coupon book they usually mail out to members.

Sears
Hint: Look for a Sears outlet near you, or see if your Sears has a clearance section on appliances. Occasionally, Sears runs promotions on various appliances, usually found on sears.com.

Best Buy
Hint: Look for clearance stock on hand by going to http://stores.bestbuy.com/123/cle...ppliances/ Replace 123 with your favorite best buy store. Best buy also occasionally offers lower end package deals, sometimes without a fridge. They have also been known to offer $19 dishwasher installs.

I am actually looking for an appliance package deal as well, as I am in the final stages of remodeling my entire home. Last November the deals were incredible, and since then I haven't seen much.

Being an appliance specialist at Lowes, I would like to point out that it is ymmv to be able to stack a 10% coupon on top of clearance appliances.

IF the price is a printed clearance tag, then you can always get an additional 10% off via coupon/military/etc. If it is a hand written tag then price negotiations vary by store and bt employee. It is corporate directed that we mark down these hand written tags on Thursdays on a weekly basis. If you try to negotiate a price before the weekend, good luck. After the weekend managers may be more receptive.

Just a quick fyi. There are deals to be had but you just have to be smart about it.

I recently got a good deal @ SEARS during their buy more save more event-if u bought 3 or more appliances over $399 you would get an extra 25% off the sale prices which were good-additionally I got 5% back in points on top of that for opening a SEARS card. The stainless steel french door 28 cf fridge retails for $3179-was on sale for &1999.00 with the additional 25% off it was $1500.00 PLUS I got 5% back in points! Happy so far!:

I am looking to buy a fridge at Lowe's today. It is on sale for 10% off. I want to stack as much as I can on top of that. What can I stack?

If I don't need my appliances until after Memorial Day, are there any good sales that occur during that time frame?

On top of the 10% sale you can stack only 1 other discount, whether that be a 10% coupon, military discount, $25 coupon, etc. You wont be able to get the 5% Lowes card discount either.

All of this is per the pricing policy...now if you found a refrigerator somewhere else and got a price match, you nay be able to get the associate to factor in a 10% coupon but it will never scan at the register the right way.

Thanks Hokeez and repped. Do you think Lowes will try to price match this?

I know Costco has a different model than anyone else...

Probably not but you can get the wtw9750 for a good price right now. I think the Lowes item number is 315990 or 312990. Im not at work right now so im doing this from memory lol.

Personally I like the maytag washer item number 62380. Its on sale for $899 special value and 10% off. It IS possible to do another coupon on top of that. Its really a great price and product.

The maytag is nice - but there is no discount on the dryer. Does lowes apply the 10% off to the extended warranty too?

Lowe's would be cheaper than Costco for the maytag even with the pedestals and the 2yr extended warranty:

$2,506.04 minus 10% = $2,255.44 compred to $2,399.99 from Costco!

I'll have to read up on the Maytag set. If you are in the Orange County area maybe I can buy from you.

Im in the atlanta market, but thank you though! Extended warranties cannot be discounted, they're almost like labor for installs.

The dryer (#5353 I think) is not 10% off like you said but it is also the special value. Don't forget Lowe's also has a 30 day guarantee on the price which should be just right around the time of memorial day.

If anything, get a written estimate from Lowes today as the 10% energy star ends tonight.

Also, if you decide to purchase the set and warranties, the 4 year 2-piece is a no brained at $180 versus $140 for the pair for 2 additional years.

You can always haggle at hhgregg, and when purchasing multiple pieces and/or service plans, they will cut you a deal. Just be firm and keep negotiating.

Always check local competitors (sears, home depot, lowes, brandsmart, etc), mention additional coupons at said competitors, plus ask why you should purchase from hhgregg (any nonsense and mention their F-rating at BBB). Associates and managers usually lighten up and will give you the best price in town. Just don't be a sap. Also, employees work on commission so they're eager to satisfy you. Let them know what price would earn your business (while being fair about it: they aren't going to give it away) and you'll be happy.

It's the run-of-the-mill salesmanship business philosophy. Haggle and negotiate for the best deals.

hokeez,

Will Lowes stack any coupons on top of the 10% price match discount? They took the fridge I want off sale today but Best Buy still has it on sale.
