They ran the trade in there itself using their system, like one would do online. So, I guess its the same process. My old laptop was powered on and working fine. I told them that I did not have a power cord. The system approved the $150 trade-in just like the online one did.

Are you talking about past tradein or this one? (In the past I did trade in some phones and got some $50 codes for online purchases at Sony website) This one is about getting a code for use at their website to buy a new laptop. Someone did this tradein instore already? (This question does not imply that it is impossible to do this tradein instore, just in case you wonder.)

it was over at the fat place. They did it in store during the 150 deal. they got 300 off the laptop according to their post.

My 15.5" E-series Vaio shipped yesterday from Shanghai via FedEx. Looks like it might be here on Friday.

Totally can't beat the price.. I mailed my old HP in yesterday - just dropped it off at UPS. I'm restoring an old 13" Toshiba Satellite that I'm thinking of trading in too. It still works but it's very well used and the battery is shot.

What will you be using it for? The Pentium B960 is more than enough for web browsing and school/office work. The Core i3 would be better if you plan to do light gaming or photo editing. The Core i5 would be best if you intend to keep your laptop for a long time and/or will use it heavily for things like photo and video editing.

I ordered mine with the Pentium B960 but my main laptop is a Core i3, and my desktop is a quad-core Dell. I use my laptops as secondary machines so the Pentium or i3 are fine for me.
