So what reason would folks have to buy the $500 Prime over this version now?

Samsung galaxy tab 2 10 in model will be out in a couple weeks also. Not sure which is better but it will be the same price i believe

Here's the basic differences:
1. 1.2 GHz Tegra 3 Processor in the TF300 vs. 1.3 GHz Tegra 3 Processor in the Transformer Prime
2. The TF300 is 635 grams (22.39 ounces) vs. 586 grams (20.67 ounces) for the Transformer Prime.
3. The TF300 is 9.9 mm thick, while the Transformer Prime is 8.8 mm thick.
4. Both have a 1280 x 800 resolution display. The TF300 has regular IPS (350 nit brightness), while the Transformer Prime has Super IPS+ (600 nit brightness).
5. The TF300 lacks flash on the 8 MP rear camera.
6. The TF300 GPS is fine out of the box (due to the plastic backing), while the Transformer Prime needs an additional GPS dongle for maximum satellite reception.

Other than that... pretty similar units.

Unless there are some apps on Apple that is not on Android or your stuck on the simplicity of their iOS, with these prices being more in line for the consumers, why pay more

Ha, it's not a front page slick deal or a multipage thumbs up deal by any means. This tablet is generating a good bit of buzz because it is the newest and cheapest quad core. It's tough to find. I am just pointing out that amazon has it.

I know what the differences are. Not a waste of money if I enjoy it, and also they keep resale value really well.
Let's face it. Part of Apples price is that better customer service.

My brother bought refurbed iPhone 4s. Him, and the wife both had issues with theirs. They went in to get help, and left with brand new ones. So you get what you pay for.

This is silly. It doesn't even surpass the Transformer Prime.

Either wait for Transformer Prime Infinity or get the new iPad.

The price difference is only $100. The feature difference is huge.
