Eh, it's ok so long as you drink it from the bottle and thus avoid smelling it. It's pretty good for cooking stews with. The problem with Newcastle is that it's a budget beer, but not cheap enough for what it is, so you can get much better beer for the same price (Sam Adams Boston Lager or Oktoberfest have a similar taste profile, and I'll take both over Newcastle any day).
Spot on. It's not that Newcastle tastes terrible, but it's not good enough to pay a premium for it on a regular basis, and it isn't light or refreshing enough to work as a beach or outdoors beer. If I'm in the mood for good beer, might as well pay a few bucks more and get something I really enjoy.
Either way, I didn't get in on this deal and I'm jealous. I'm too slow for SD these days.
Some items that are potentially only $4.50 - Newcastle Glass Pitcher & 1 Schooner Glass OR 3 Newcastle Geordie Schooner 16 oz. Glasses OR 3 Newcastle Bar Towels (Set of 2) OR for $5.00 a New Castle Messenger Bag, etc.
