At such low numbers it is not telling in anyway what condition your camera is in or likelihood to fail in the future. Just take pictures and enjoy.

I think they're required to ask what's wrong with it, but I doubt they'll ever check. They just recycle them. One of them just told me to throw it into the box and ship the "broken" camera without any packaging or regard to the well being of the camera during transit to them.

You can look on ebay for a broken powershot (should be $10-15) and note the model number for one you like. If you go through with the order you can purchase it after getting off the phone.

Versus owning it for 3 months and taking thousands of pictures? I guess that's what I was getting at. Yes, people handle them at trade shows but I doubt they take TOO many pictures. I've never been to one myself as I don't live in a highly populated area.
