I've been really thinking about this. I can say with some confidence that I'd be a match for any of the canines - dogs, wolves, etc. The trick would be to short-circuit their natural tendencies to posture and puff themselves up for intimidation's sake. Basically you'd have to charge in, put them on the defensive right from the start, and hope you don't get bitten too badly while you get an arm or your hands around their neck.
The bigger cats worry me. I would take some damage from a lynx or a bobcat but I think I could finish them off. Cougars, pumas, jaguars? No way. Lions/tigers forget it.
One hyena might be doable - they are cowards and used to sneaking up on prey or working in packs. Again it would be all about getting the jump on them & hoping to quickly get into a favorable position.
Anybody who says they could take down a bear of any kind without weapons is full of shit.
A badger or wolverine would tear me up, I'm quite sure. Anything smaller in the rodent/ferret family I'm pretty confident I could defeat. You'd hope you could stomp the shit out of a fox for example, maybe get lucky with a Tasmanian devil...
What does that leave? For predators, it's the reptiles: komodo dragons (no way - how could you even damage one of those things?), crocodiles, alligators (again, I can see how they could be subdued but I've no clue how I'd go about killing one barehanded), large snakes (one-on-one vs. an anaconda or boa constrictor I think I lose 99 times out of 100 but maybe I get lucky once)... birds? Ostrich, emu - they'd kick the shit out of me, anything smaller up to & including the bigger eagles & condors I think I could handle.
Am I forgetting any carnivores?
I'm not sure if we want to discuss herbivores? Rhinos, hippos, giraffes? I might could take down a deer or a gazelle but I am in no way shape or form confident of a moose, not even a baby. Buffalo? How about a llama? These aren't vicious animals so I don't know if they fit the discussion.
Think so? They have pretty wicked claws and their heads are pretty hard too - plus they're way bigger than most people realize.
They have large claws and can gut a person with one front swipe.
Or is that kangaroos?
"Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference."
"When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."
