I opted to utilize the DVI connection and it works fine. No real benefit to use the HDMI as this monitor has no audio.

3D is decent in SWTOR, but you need to manually download the profile for it, as the "updated" tridef on HP.com doesn't include it.

I'm working on finding a program that can run my 3D Blu-Ray rips that I made, as this monitor does not support SBS within the OSD. Power DVD is said to work, but sadly it does not support this file type and I'm to lazy to reconvert it.

Your LG model has some added benefits. HP dropped the ball when they did not include the SBS option within the OSD.

Oh well, I bought this to play PC games in 3D, and with Tridef that works. I'd give this monitor a 7.5 out of 10. For the money I paid it isn't that bad. The image quality is on par wth my ASUS LED plus it has the ability for some 3D, what's not to love right? lol

You were correct, I enabled overscan and it is nearly perfect. Just wish my desk was larger. Was attempting to fit all three monitors on this desk, didn't happen.

Got the HP in and already sent it back; have a LG one on route now. The HP didn't have VESA mounting on it so I couldn't put it on my desk mount, the LG one has it. Between HP's Tax/CA recycling fee and PC Richard not charging for those, it comes out to the same rough price for me.

I got the 2311gt monitor in today. The 3D on it is great, It works extremely well on pretty much everything I have tried it on. Games/pictures/movies/Youtube all look great. However, when using the 2D mode, I can see very dim horizontal lines 90% of the time in my peripheral vision. It's driving me crazy. : ( I suppose the LG would also have this issue... If anyone with the LG could tell me if it has the same issue, (Or how to get rid of the issue on the HP), that would be great.

I was going to get the LG after this deal died, but decided against it. Read the reviews. There's something wrong with the glasses. The glasses that are properly polarized supposed distort the image. They are optically incorrect. I guess LG agrees since with the newer shipments they've been sending out the models they use for the LG 3D TVs, while optically they are good they aren't polarized correctly for the 3D monitor so people report purple fringing. They say that they are about 45 degs off axis. So they say you can chop them up and rotate them yourself for that DIY look. Either way, until LG comes out with a decent pair of glasses the LG monitor is dead in my mind.

Is it an MKV file? Try renaming it to .avi or .mp4 and it will magically work within the PowerDVD software. .avi worked for me but i lost audio - mp4 had both

Otherwise ive had luck with NVIDIA 3D vision video player which appears to be free.

I've been able to play a handful of 30 second half-SBS blu-ray samples that ive downloaded from the interwebs.

I have not tried that yet, i'll give it a go. If you are using the copy of PowerDVD that comes with the monitor this version does not play AAC audio.

I got the glasses that give occasional purple ghosting. But after a little searching around I found the new model glasses part # and after a few minutes with LG via chat they're sending me the correct glasses that everyone AVS forums loves.

If you do order an LG:
The incorrect glasses model number is: FPG-200F/Bundle P/NO:: EBX61588301

The correct model has 3D Monitor Glasses written on the box: FPG-200F P/NO: EBX61528101

Even with the occasional purple ghosting, the 3D looks amazing, and in 7-10 days, I'll have the correct glasses. =)

I've never had an issue.

Played great just changing the file extension. I went ahead and re-installed powerDVD 12 and audio played as well. not sure why version 10 never got an AAC update. Oh well as is life right? heh

Still happy with the monitor, I do not notice any lines as another poster has. Even in 2D mode it looks great (I've never purchased an IPS monitor and as such am not spoiled yet)

Thank you for replying. Pretty impressive service if you ask me - the Prepaid postage is a huge bonus.

Wish I didn't return the HP one, the LG one supplied wrong glasses and there's purple tint/ghosting and it's gonna be a hassle. HP was excellent in 3D.
