but i guess i turned on msnbc at the wrong time, because i missed obamas comments on da tv!
Well there's your problem right there!
All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work. — Calvin Coolidge
"Under Barack Obama, the only 'change' is that 'hope' is hard to find" - Marco Rubio
Finally, President Obama has spoken as a black man.
It wasn't entirely on his own initiative, but a question he was asked about Trayvon Martin left him no choice. When he finally spoke, he began haltingly, as if his words were taking him out on a high wire with no net below. This was risky.
Did Obama comment on the Martin/Zimmerman case out of the blue or was he answering a question asked by the media? I think that's an important point to keep in mind.
fair question, I don't know... can someone else answer?
Obama could have easily sidestepped the likely planted question. It was an ongoing local investigation. That would have been the presidential thing to do, rather than the rabble rouser thing to do.
I'm no lawyer but I thought touching was when assault ended and battery began. Assault = threat and battery = action. But again, I'm no lawyer.
You're correct. An assault can be an attempt, or it's also used when weapons are involved, as in "assault with a deadly weapon". It's not "battery with a deadly weapon".
It just seemed strange since he was commenting on what charges should be filed, he didn't make mention of the man being put into the hospital in critical condition. That would point to a possible attempted murder charge if one were making postulations. Not to mention various other charges, like hate crime.
Saying "how dare the mayor only use the word assault when put on the spot about what his actions will be" is "where's the outrage" or rather "why isn't there more outrage."
Yes, that is one of the common dismissive techniques used around here, when disparate responses to different incidents are compared.
yeah, zimmerman has one drop anything other than white in him, so yeah, he's obviously not white.
Than why don't we have a white-african american president?
It really doesn't matter what label is thrown on Zimmerman, except that some are calling him white just in an attempt to further fuel an agenda of hate.
