Newegg FAR software this week (Kaspersky, AVG, Mcafee)

Just a heads up, for those purchasing AVG rebates more than once, the new rebates from Newegg now have a change in the terms of condition stating:

"Limit ONE rebate per person, household, family or address per year, per product."

The "per year, per product" part was just recently added. It is not sure yet whether this is going to be enforced yet, however McAfee rebates changed in a similar manner and rebates started to get denied.

Other rebates which have previously had the per year restriction, such as "Intuit" rebates, have not enforced it. Also, other rebates with the "per product" restriction, such as Kaspersky and Trend Micro, have not interpreted it as "per product name" but rather "one rebate per product per offer number" so you can submit as many rebates for "Kaspersky Internet security" as you want as long as they are different offer numbers.

I just got a new computer and it has 15 months of free McAfee total protection. I have read that McAfee is pretty slow and may slow down my PC. Anyone suggest one of these over the McAfee? Any that may not be listed here?

I have also read just to use MSE and malwarebytes on windows 7 and I will be fine.

Please somebody let me know is there any antivirus required in addition to that?

Im looking for an Anti-Virus myself... Anyone know which one of these takes the least system resources. I notice after installing an Anti-Virus my computer slows down dramatically with Norton... I want to switch to another brand that takes the least resources.

Have you tried Microsoft Security Essentials? It's fairly lightweight and a free solution.

I certainly hope that this isn't enforced. I'm pretty sure that I've already purchased this product (and submitted a rebate for it) this year.

People really use FAR anti virus???????

I bought the Panda and it doesn't have a manual, just a one-page "installation guide". Does that count as a manual to rip the front page off of, or should I send in the physical cd? Any ideas from people with experience would be appreciated, since I imagine cds will cost more than a stamp to mail.

A photocopy of the cd has always been accepted.

Yeah I brought that up with somebody in rebateshq, and they keep insisting that Mcafee is fine to purchase and submit a rebate as long as the rebate promo number is different. Crap I bought AVG, hope i get that rebate.

And for those software that limits to one FAR per year, does staples FAR count into that limit?
