Off topic, but I found a Canon IP4000 at the flea market for $10 last weekend. I managed to get it paying only $7, plus it had 5 empty cartridges which I sold to staples for $10. Used ones still sell for $100+ on ebay, this one works pretty well but there's some streaks that need to get cleaned out still.

Canon has several comparable printers with ADFs, take a look. The MG5220 is a great printer overall; I bought one at bestbuy mid last year for $100 and love it.

Wow... first printer I purchased that has cheap ink cartridges AND you can profit turning in these ink cartridges to Staples?!!

The reviews are shared by ALL sellers of same compatible carts. They are not exclusive to one seller unless they put their name at the beginning of the product title.

I agree with flee in that Ink4work is one of the better ones. I just got two identical orders in for brother lc75 "premium" compatible carts. The one from Ink4work was the better of the two as they had the amount of ink of a 75 (high capacity) whereas the "premium" high capacity from OCProducts (printronic) had the level of ink of a standard capacity 71. I also received the same carts and ink from them when ordering the generic-generic version and the "premium" versions.

Here is a website similar to the asian manufacturers these sellers procure from. Notice how there are two levels of ink for 75's they call them 75 and 75xl--even though 75 is XL!

The lower #'s were from OCProducts and the higher # I received from Ink4work. And no I do not work for them or Amazon etc.

FYI they also share descriptions between sellers of same titled products.!!!

i'd like an AIO but i'm not ready to spend $50 when i'll maybe print 20 pages a year. also the original price is just $10 dollars more so it doesn't seem like much of a deal to me

If you only print 20 pages a year you will be upset with anything as more than likely the printer heads/carts will clog. They need to be used once every week or two max!

I have a two year all in one Canon Ink Jet. The scanner went out after one year. Since we only print few pages per month in color, the cartridges run dry often. So we are just using Brother laser printer. It is b&w but runs circles around ink jet in reliability and toner capacity. I wonder if color laser toners also suffer from lack of frequent use. I know they run $80, but if they can be completely used then they may be a better deal.

Does anyone know if this could successfully scan my 35mm film negatives?

hrmm. i suppose i would use it as a scanner more than if that's the case. i should tell this to my dad too because my sis got him a printer a few months ago and i don't think he really uses it too much so thanks for that

This is actually a very true statement. Ink jet printers look like graveyards at thrift stores and flea markets. Invest in a laser printer and get a lot more value over the long run. There is a reason that ink jet printers are cheap!! "You pay for what you get."

Btw, I bought the printer with a $10 best buy giftcard that I got for free using the Amex sync deal. Hence, the printer from best buy was really 19.99

No. You need a dedicated transparency scanner or negative scanner. Very few (if any) printers do it, and it wouldn't be cheap.

Actually, it's not true at all. The reason ink jet printers are cheap is because they try to make money back on ink.

Buy generic ink, and you MAKE money. Try doing that with laser. FInd a printer with CLI-221 ink if you really want to score.

Try printing photos with laser. You'll get an image faster, but it'll be ugly.

So, sure...if you don't want to make money on recycling ink cartridges, or want to print photos...go for it. "invest" in a laser printer. Then come back and tell us how much it cost you in the long run. I have to beg my kids to print more just to run through my ink faster.

Man... I so want to get this, but I'm so darn picky that the fact that you have to raise up that thing to put the paper in is turning me off...

I currently have a brother mfc-210 with ink that's even cheaper than this thing, but it's old... really want wireless... but the thing i love about it the most is that i could put it in a tight location and load the paper from the bottom tray.

PLEASE, somebody convince me to buy this printer.
