Disney / SoCal September deals?
Planing on the Disney, Universal Studios, Hollywood vacation for a large family in September and am looking for Hotel/Admission/Bus or rental car package deals. The boys are 16, 13, 11 and 2 so need large hotel suites or adjoining rooms for six. The last time I was in SoCal there was a shuttle service called the Fun Bus, but I can't seem to find it on the internet. Add to the mix, a day trip to San Diego to tour the USS Midway. VisionTek does not honor their lifetime warranty. Do not buy graphics cards from them.

Universal Studio is okay for teens because there do not have a lot of rides. If you are looking for hotel, you can find some where close to Hollywood and take Red Line subway. Red Line subway is very convenient because it can take you to other places like Hollywood Star walk, Chinatown, Downtown LA...
Go to www.metro.net. FYI if you buy a day pass metro, you can go take different metro train. You can go different places in LA. Don't forget about student ID to get discount. -ITOUCHMACBOOK

In Anaheim, use the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) system. It's $4 a day per person and it's unlimited trips anywhere it travels on their routes including dining establishments and Disney. It is frequented mainly by Disney guests and very safe. We use it every time we are in Anaheim (we have annual passes to Disneyland). http://www.rideart.org/
If you have AAA, check out the Anaheim Marriott, and click on room packages, they usually have adjoining rooms and so forth for $119/night (depending on when you travel) and they also have packages that include breakfast for four and parking for $149. For San Diego, if you stay in Anaheim and throw in the Gray Line package from Anaheim, the Sea World admission includes a free bus from Anaheim to San Diego, worth it if you are going to include Sea World in your trip. Disneyland is running 2 days for $99 but it ends the end of June, so I don't think that will do you much good. For Universal Studios, if you buy the tickets online you get the rest of the year for free, which would be good if you are planning to stay in the area for more than one day. The military extended their Disneyland till the end of September, it's $99 for 3 day park hopper tickets, and that is your best bet if you are military and can get the tickets. |

This is So. California... your going to want a car.
Amtrek runs a train that goes from Anaheim and stops a couple blocks away from the USS Midway. The price isn't bad and the schedule is good, but when you are buying 6 tickets, you won't save any money going this route. ALSO, FYI... September is the beginning of fire season in So. Cal. It wasn't bad last year, but it can get smokey Last edited by bzhayes; 05-03-2012 at 04:09 PM.. |
