I ordered Tera from Amazon, I didn't get any buddy codes, do they only get sent if you pre-order from EME only?

"Meh" is my opinion of the game. Nice graphics, cool bosses, somewhat polished (because it's been out for a year in Korea), but just not very fun to me. Clunky combat mechanics and just another kill X amount of ____, collect X amount of ____, escort so and so, grindy MMO (grindy level 30+).

Sorry, didn't mean to thread crap. But with Guild Wars 2 coming out soon, why bother with this $15/month run-of-the-mill MMO?

Clunky combat mechanics? Compared to? There are very few action mmorpgs. Vindictus' combat is faster, but Tera actually has tighter controls IMO.

Compared to everything. If you're talking about "action" MMORPGs, Age of Conan (and I suppose Aion) destroys Tera's combat mechanics. Other more recent MMOs, Rift's combat mechanics destroys Tera's simplistic and clunky combat mechanics. When Guild Wars 2 releases, that game will absolutely annihilate Tera's combat mechanics. Vindictus didn't warrant me playing it, so I wouldn't know about that game.

Oh, and Tera's caster classes are so broken (translate: shitty) for PvP. It's a melee-friendly, button-smashing game.

Guess I can't agree with you. AoC's combat is not true "action" based. If you move out of range of an attack, you are still hit if the enemy threw it while you were in range. The only depth to it is the blocking mechanic. Aion and Rift are similar to WoW for combat from what I understand, which means it's just point and click. Unless Guild Wars 2 has completely changed the combat model from Guild Wars 1, it's the same thing as WoW, just point and click simplicity.

I'm really not sure where you are coming from. Tera has an actual combat engine, unlike the other games you mentioned.

I'm not sure about Caster classes as I don't really play them.

I tried Tera beta, not my cup of tea, maybe there are some fans out there. It would be good as a F2P model, but it's just not at all that great to justify shelling out a monthly subscription fee.

I have no idea but all those MMO you have listed have been the same. press TAB 1,2,3,4,5 REPEAT. I have no idea how you can even say Tera's simplistic and clunky combat.

Guild Wars 2, will be awesome if your into the TAB 1,2,3,4,5 concept which has been around since the original Everquest. You should read the latest information about open beta at;

There a section in the article where the editor is actually finding someone to do the beta for GW2 for him in order to play the head start of Tera.

Finally you should see some tweets from Penny Arcade, he prefers Tera over the tab fighting from Gw2 and he has played both games.

wasn't a fan of the community that i experienced, i have a feeling it will have a horrible community. alot of immature, judgemental, rude, troll types. it wasn't my scene.

also the constant censorships and endless, ridiculous debates going on over a fantasy game. it does my head in.

i'll be staying far away from this game.
