Perfect Comfort Seven Zone Memory Foam Mattress Topper: Twin $32, Full $35, Queen $35, King or Cal King $35

This is a marketing gimmick for people that don't know anything about memory foam.

For starters, 2" is so thin that only a high density pad is going to be of much noticeable benefit, but high density pads are VERY clearly advertised for their weight as it means more material which means more expense.

"Vented" or "varying density" and other such gimmicks are simply a way to sell you more air and save on the very expensive liquid that makes up a memory foam pad. Memory foam by its very nature conforms to your body, so uniform densities are desirable as you see on the true expensive MF mattresses.

I will never again sleep in a bed without memory foam, but spend a little more and buy a topper that is actually worth something, otherwise all you will achieve is raising the perceived temperature of your mattress as memory foam by design does not breathe (its closed cell foam).

That is literally worse than nothing.

Duc - How much does it increase the temp? I sleep hot in general, so wondering how much this will make me sweat. Do the vented versions (that have small holes) not truly help with the heat? If they do, I'll gladly sacrifice a slight amount of foam/cushion to reduce heat/sweat.

In order to get the volume, you don't have to know Weight.

Volume = L x W x H ( length x width x height )
For queen size V = 60 x 80 x 2 = 9600 in^3 ( it is not actual volume since thickness is not solid shape)
You are asking for density.

Density = weight / volume = weight / ( L x W x H )

So is this worth it, or should I pay more for something better?

edit: I have owned one of these for a year now and it's fantastic. It's certainly no serta mattress (and I've slept on a few of those) but it turned my crummy mattress into something incredibly sleepable. And it's way better than the fake foam stuff like listed in the OP (tried that stuff too).
