Intel 3930K SB-E 6 core processor 569.99 + FS @ newegg

do any of the new Ivy Bridge procs have an advantage over these other than power consumption. Seems to me with 6 cores the oc is said to be better than Ivy

From what I have read the SB-E quad is really close to the 3770k. And this just adds 2 cores (4 threads) on top of that. The big difference b/w X79 and Z77 is that X79 has quad channel ram and more pci-e lanes so if you need multiple video cards or run memory intensive applications X79 is the way to go.

We dont know for sure yet if the retail ones use the TIM or are soldered yet.

doesnt it add 2 cores/4 threads over the 3770k and not 4 cores?
