Not when it was 50,000 miles a month ago. It is the best available now, but unless you have to have them now, it may be best to wait a bit and see if they bump it up again.

I think $400 of gift cards (or don't they still even just let you cash it out?) is a very nice deal. It's been available for awhile, and it's heavily advertised in banners, so it's not such a "great find" and the 50k deal was a special link and was short lived. I am going to go ahead and sign up for this one.. just not sure if they'll take me since I've had sapphire in the past already.

Remember to book travel via the chase preferred site if possible. I just got the card early March, spent my 3k right away, and a few more, and already have 53,000 plus points. I just booked a trip on Delta on Monday, and Chase's preferreed travel site had the exact same flights and exact same airfare, however, my 53,000 plus points gave me $680 off the airfare. Yes, the points were easy come, easy go, but my 1040 round trip for two airafre ended up olny costing me on 360 bucks. Plus I get double points for the rental car and hotel once we get there. I can easily put $3,000 a month every month, on this card and as long as I pay off every month, I'll easily earn enough points to cover the annual fee and still get a free roundtrip or more again next year. Boy I love this card.

1.28 cents per point isnt really a great conversion ratio..

The nice thing about the Chase Sapphire Preferred card is that it has Ultimate Rewards that allows you to book a flight at a 20% discount using your UR points. If you have a Chase Freedom card or other cards that has UR, you can transfer the points from those cards to your Chase Sapphire card to pay for the airfare and 1 point = $1.25 airfare

can you transfer from freedom to sapphire as well, or only from sapphire to a freedom?

i found its much better if you transfer those to ua.com and you can book 2 saver tickets

You can combine to either one, but you are better off combining them into the Sapphire account if you want to transfer to a travel program (like Hyatt or United). You cannot transfer from a Freedom account.
