I'm surprised this is a thumbs down and disagree with justabrake and feel that it is "HOT." . I have this scanner and for its size its terrific. I even had the two previous models (Lide 90 & 60). I'm writing a book, doing much research, and this scanner is ideal. It can be taken into a library (or anywhere) and worked off a laptop or netbook with no power. I paid more than this for mine even though I bought it at Staples under the same conditions (25/75 coupon). Ignore these negative scores and consider this scanner.

I should mention that I have larger multi-functional scanners as well - the Epson V700, Epson V500, two Epson 1660's and an Epson 1640 with a photo lite box all primary for photographic work (negatives, slides,and film). But the Canon LIDE 210 scanner still has a portable role to play where the others do not fit in. I even take it with me on vacation as it slim design allows it to be almost transparent. Well, this is a great price and a terrific scanner. Obviously those above that scored it low do not have it!

Wow, I agree. I paid more for the same scanner and agree with your comments. This is a terrific portable scanner. I run mine for hours off of a netbook when I'm researching. Ignore these negative scores and consider this scanner if its still available for this price or near this price.
