HIS Radeon HD 7770 Problems
Okay so I just bought this card the other day and tried it in my PC tonight (Dell XPS420). The only thing that happens is the fan spins for a second and then turns off, obviously I get no display images, but all the little boot up sounds and Windows sound come on. On the box it recommends a 450w power supply, however I believe my power source is only 430w, which from what I read and my setup should not be any problem. I tried my HIS 4670 with a grinding fan and a HD 2400 Pro; both of which worked. I also downloaded the new drivers, ATI Catalyst: 12.3, and installed them. Otherwise I guess I got a DOA card??? This seems almost impossible for me to believe. Last edited by Milstar; 04-28-2012 at 03:17 AM.. |

I'm lost. If you have two PC's, does the GPU work in either? Are there two PSU connectors on your 7770, and if so, does your present PSU have two to connect to it? (see attachments} I have a 5770 here that requires two of the connectors like in the attached pix, but I don't know if yours has them too. If it does and you haven't connected them, that would explain why the card doesn't work. |
