Just an FYI...this camera is PAINFULLY slow. Just tested it out and writing one photo to the SD card takes 10 seconds. This is the same SD card to which my Sony HX5 writes instantaneously.
What speed is your SD? The HX5 could be caching the image, and letting you fill up the buffer until it actually slows down. Not sure about the buffer size on either camera, but that could explain it FYI, my KX is somewhat quick when shooting with a class 2 until it fills up the buffer

I just checked with a class 10 (20 mb/s)and my UHS (25mb/s) and without flash a little under 4 seconds shot to shot. With flash about 6 secs.... I looked at the firmware update, but according to my serial number it's not needed...
