do we HAVE to call or can we use Online Chat to get the deal? I just hate talking on a phone.

![]() The CSR crammed me when "checking to see what he could do for me". I called and cancelled the service I didn't order. A week or two later I received an email notification that the gateway/modem had shipped. I called to discover the order was active and cancelled it a second time. To cover my bases, I called back two days later. They had no record of the cancellation. ![]() That third call finally got it cancelled cancelled. Sent the modem back and they received it in March. They didn't credit me with the return and demanded $100 plus late fees. They swore to me they got it fixed about a week ago. I should know next week if they have or not. |

Not going to happen. ![]() No need to get my money back. I refused to pay the bill for the service I didn't order and the equipment I sent back. |

![]() I'm a computer tech by trade. I want to have some control over the process if my internet service isn't working. If the gateway/modem dies, I don't want to wait a week or two for AT&T to send me a replacement and pay whatever cost they decide they want to bill me because they have me over a barrel. What happens when it turns out it isn't a bad gateway/modem but an issue with the line? Then I have to wait another week or two for a service call. If I'm without internet service for a month, how easy do you think it would be for me to get a billing credit for it? Judging from this fiasco, I don't think it would be very easy. With my existing setup, I can eliminate everything on my side of the equation in less than an hour. Is that worth paying an extra $13 a month for six or twelve months? Right now, it is for me. Ask me again in ten months when my discounts expire and I try negotiating a lower rate. I may have a different answer then. ![]() Edit: I just called AT&T to verify my billing issue has been taken care of. "We see that you have a past due amount on your U-verse account." FML Last edited by marg_fan; 05-02-2012 at 04:12 PM.. Reason: confirmation numbers mean NOTHING to AT&T. |

I asked about the $20 /mo on the 6mb promo deal but she couldn't do anything she said unless I waited 2 days which doesn't make any sense to me, |
